Now that Boise is going back to MWC, and most likely SDSU will follow as well, and Houston and SMU could be MWC bound too, there's no appealing teams left to develop a western division without watering the new league down. Heck there's barely enough teams left for a simple 8 team conference as it is. There won't be any division or championship game. That all went out the window today.

Here's your new league.

Central Florida
Cincinnati
Connecticut
East Carolina
Memphis
South Florida
Temple
Tulane


That's the best it's getting.

Houston and SMU are safe for now. The MWC doesnt need to go above 12 right now.

Southern Miss and Tulsa would water down the league? I know Southern Miss just had a very bad season, but come on. Those schools would help football tremendously.

In a fair world, Southern Miss would have been promoted before anyone on that list, it amazes me how people are so quick to dismiss them as garbage because of one season.

So Miss and Tulsa would be good adds. Get to 12 teams for a championship game. No UMass, Charlotte, ODU please. So miss and Tulsa have paid their dues and beaten good D1 competition. The others haven't.

I would add Southern Miss and someone else (Tulsa?) That still gets you 12 and a championship game. I wouldn't add anyone else though.

That is easily the best route. hold the Texas schools and add USM and either Tulsa or LaTech and just build that league. It would be a very competitive league going forward.
