RE: Football Class of 2015
OSU site discussing 3 2015 Winton Woods prospects with UC offers:
Quote:Daniel Cage and Winton Woods Update
By Jordan Wagner -24 January 2014
Kerry Coombs stopped in at Cincinnati Winton Woods today. As you guys know, Ohio State is looking for another defensive lineman. Winton Woods' '14 DT Daniel Cage is a prospect that OSU has stayed in contact with and they have shown some interest as of late. Many believe that he may be a backup option to Malik McDowell and others. Cage has offers from the likes of Michigan State, Louisville and Notre Dame. The Buckeyes would probably have to offer very soon since he hasn't visited yet. I'm not quite sure of the chances that he gets an offer.
Coombs recently told 2015 OT Noah Listermann that he is very interested in him and that the (OSU) staff sees him as a "project." They have already asked him to camp this summer and I'm sure he probably will. Noah has an offer from Cincinnati. Kentucky, Notre Dame, Michigan and Oklahoma all have recently been in contact with him.
Woods also has 2015 OT George Brown Jr. and '15 LB David Long. Neither have OSU offers, yet. Brown has a very long and impressive offer list. I'm a fan of David Long and he already has offers from UC, Illinois and some MAC schools. ...

Seems like a good idea to keep mining as much as we can from Norcross.

RE: Football Class of 2015
I would probably stay away from George Brown Jr. I think this is like his 4th or 5th high school in 3 years. Princeton to Colerain to LaSalle (supposedly for like a day), maybe to Princeton again and then finally to Winton Woods.... There are some definite red flags there from some of the stories I've heard from some of my Colerain buddies.

UC offered La Salle junior defensive tackle Jordan Thompson, according to La Salle coach Nate Moore. Thompson, who is 6 feet 3 and 255 pounds, had 62 tackles, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble for the Lancers this past season. He was also a team captain. He also has offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Northwestern

I dont know what you think about him but that one surprises me a bit. He has regressed since he's been at LaSalle IMO. He started varsity at DE for them as a freshman, but really hasn't done much since and I think other kids have caught up to him. Those stats have to be totally inflated. I saw half of LaSalle's games last year and he didn't do much at all in any of those games. I thought he was really disappointing last season to be honest. People tried to compare him to Ben Martin coming into HS but he isn't close to being in Martin's league. He doesn't have the talent, athleticism or explosion that Martin had prior to his injuries in college. He lacks a mean streak and doesnt play nearly physical enough for a high caliber DT IMO. The junior DT at X and the junior DT at Moeller are so much better.

He sounds like a kid that will end up at UC..

The only LaSalle game I saw last year was the game against the Indiana team that racked up 50+ points on them. I cam away unimpressed with the entire team including the recruit that signed with Bama. I'm not sure the coaching change has been a good one for the Lancers.

Stalker has a pretty good offer list going, good to see the Bearcats offer early.
