RE: Tulsa and UMASS mentioned as possible Big East additions
Bloom where planted, CUSA'ers who stay. Boise State did when they started their run and when everyone thought they had cooties, too. Amazing how BSU's cooties turned into gold while other schools with past glories continue to make fools gold while making national clowns of themselves in all this NCAA Re-alignment 3 ring circus with its amost weekly changes; mostly of a negative basis it should be said. When will the Big East announce those high dollar TV revenues after 2013 and have their official launch? An anxious world awaits.

You know, there are actually conference out here with tremendous upside while other conference are filling their membership slots with schools who are on the downside and have been in that mode much longer than they'd ever admit.

GMG!

"Rice and Southern Miss were also tossed around."

Surprising. Good to hear our name tossed around, though I don't have any idea what my preference is. I'm happy with the current future CUSA West. But who knows if it will still exist next year. Or next week.

Adding Rice to the Big East would be a good add. Great academics and competitive football. Would Rice like to stay in the same conf as Houston and SMU?

Speaking for myself, yes to SMU, no to UH. I think Rice and UH increase their respective utilities to their conferences if they do not double up. I would love to have an annual OOC game with UH at a neutral site.

Agree. Best to separate from UH, but play out of conference in long-standing rivalries like the Bayou Bucket and Silver Glove. I'd prefer to stay with SMU, Tulane and Tulsa. But I do not see that being worth a large exit fee from C-USA and a large entrance fee to C-USA (I mean the nBE).
