Notre Dame should not have been invited to the National Championship[b]They lost by 28 points which is more than NIU did but you don't hear anything about the smaller, slower, inferior, little Irish. This just screams total BCS. It also is the start of the snowball that will see all conference champs in the playoff. It is evident that the "Big 10" is not very Big. I quit watching ESPN about two years ago and everyone should do the same until this crap changes.

So what does the Big 10 have to do with this?

There are blowouts in national championships sometimes. This wasn't unprecedented....let's not get crazy.

Actually, the live broadcasters were saying Notre Dame was slower and not as athletic as Alabama. But they also tried to blame it on the layoff and forgetting how to tackle all of a sudden.

Eddie Lacy looked like he was made of rubber the way Notre Dame defenders were bouncing off him.

Alabama was bigger, stronger, faster, more talented, and more fundamentally sound. That equals a brutal ass kicking. Don't like Bammer or the SEC, just calling it like I see it.

In the last 15 years......1997, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2006, 2011, and 2012 have all been snooze fests or blowouts.

Yep. I remember when the Super Bowl seemed to be a blowout every year too. Sometimes there are sweeps in the NBA and NHL finals. Baseball as well. Sometimes the Kentucky Derby isn't a close finish. It happens all the time.

I know logic says that the two undefeateds would play....but do you really think the SEC would have been left out even if Ohio St was eligible? Hard to imagine at this point.

If OSU wouldn't been on probation, they'd dropped a game or two.

So what does the Big 10 have to do with this?

I thought Notre Dame was being considered for the "Big 10" and I was being facecious with the not being invited thing also. I got carried away!

If anything they would be considered the ACC now. Getting blown out in a big game.....they should fit right in. 03-puke

Yes. They also would have been left out if Oregon or Kansas State stayed undefeated.

How wonderful for Atlanta that they get to host the national championship every year now.

I think I just vomited a little.

Things change, and things will change again. Before Florida's upset of Ohio State, the SEC was largely irrelevant for much of the previous decade.

The rest of college athletics have wised up to what a few SEC schools are doing (throwing big money at successful coaches) and will do the same (see tOSU and Meyer). Besides, the SEC as a whole isn't that much better...just a few schools are started really kicking ass...Alabama, LSU, and Florida, the rest of the league is nothing special. I'm not giving much credence to Auburn's "bought and paid for" fluke.

I only watched it because I wanted to see if Not Our Dame would get b****slapped all over the field and they did. This NCG is a joke anyway and is a primadonna love fest by the media, principally espn. I didn't watch it last year though and I probably won't watch it again unless it's a non-aq against an aq. It's a dumb setup and there should be a playoff.

Brett Mussberger didn't notice the game. He was too obsessed with the Bama QB's girlfriend. It's hard to comment on the game with your pants around your ankles! LOL.
