RE: Check out ACC.com at 11 A.M for football schedules
When the Catholic 7 break away from the Big East for the 2013-14 basketball season, I believe that Louisville's Tom Jurich and the ACC will work out Louisville's addition to the conference for the 2013-2014 season. Since the Big East does not have a basketball TV contract for next season, the Catholic 7 will jump on Fox Sports offer. Louisville has no interest in competing in basketball without the Catholic 7 members being a part of the scheduling. I also believe that Maryland really has nothing to to with a Louisville early addition. If the ACC can grab Louisville early, they will do it.

RE: Check out ACC.com at 11 A.M for football schedules
I have heard some things from a friend in providence that the C7 are pretty confident they can get out by 2013. Notre Dame has expressed to the ACC they will join whenever the C7 leave, but Swofford wants an additional game if ND joins in 2013. I don't really have a "source" at louisville so I haven't heard much about that end of the deal..How do you propose we go about doing divisions if Louisville joined this year? Or do we say forget divisions this year and take the best two teams available?

The rotation cross over games(the ones that change from year to year)

BC at UNC
Clem at UVA
FSU at Pitt
UMD at VT
NCST at Duke
Syr at GT
WF at UM

There's some great matchups next year. Really hope we can play a few ACC teams out of conference if we're stuck in the Big East another year.

I've seen numerous people post this question on various boards, so please don't think I'm picking on you, WestMC9th... however, this would be against NCAA rules. You cannot have a conference championship game unless you
(1) divide into 2 divisions (no more, no less),
(2) play every team in your own division
(3) take the 2 division champs to play in the conference championship game.

These are not ACC rules - they are NCAA rules. Having said that, I suppose the ACC could ask for a 1-year exemption, but it would be up to the NCAA to grant/deny.

With the exception of Clemson the home schedule for SU blows. BC, Pitt and WF are all familiar foes in the dome. Was also hoping to see us on the road at either WF or Clemson. Much easier drive for me than NCST.

RE: Check out ACC.com at 11 A.M for football schedules
I see that a few teams had to play back-to-back road games to make the schedule work. For example, GT @ Clemson and VT @ BC (2012 and again 2013). Also, FSU @ VT in 2012 but no VT @ FSU for 2013. I wonder if this ends up being a 1-off schedule, then they re-do the divisions when U of L comes in for 2014?

I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being one-off, but for us, it looks like very intriguing if it holds on a long-term basis.

We'd have our arguably 3 biggest ACC rivals (in-state UVA, division-deciding GT, longest-running-conference-mate Miami) either all home or all away. Then, we'd have both NC schools + Pitt, all home or away.

They switched Duke and Miami in our rotation. That really doesn't make sense. So we are playing at Miami two years in a row and at BC two years in a row. At least we get Duke at home two years!?!

It looks like GT has Clemson and VT split like they wanted.

Pitt is traveling to Syracuse 2 years in a row also

It's really the best Pitt could have hoped for in a home schedule for the first year in the ACC. FSU and Miami at home for ACC opponents and ND as a non-conf.

I had heard about that. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Pitt has a nice home schedule, between FSU, Miami, and Notre Dame. They also get a chance (and should be able) to knock off former Irish coach Bob Davie, now at New Mexico.

UVA already had a scheduled OOC game vs Penn State. Now they get to travel to Pitt as well...surely the Cavs will get their fill of PA!

I can already hear the attendance smack coming. BC, Clemson, Pitt, Wake, Tulane and TBD (probably an FCS team) is not going to excite many people. No offense, Wake, but we just played you. Thanks a lot, Doctor Gross, for selling the Ped State game to MetLife Stadium.

There are 6 games being repeated from last year. VT is in 3. I have yet to find a fan that is happy about the new rotation. It doesn't make any sense. If the Duke/Miami/VT rotations hadn't been messed with, everything would be better.
