Is there any conference (FBS, FCS, other) that subjects existing members to a minimum-attendance requirement?

WAC voted down a proposal some years ago that was seen as a thinly veiled attempt to boot SJSU based on attendance and other criteria.

Sun Belt has adopted minimum membership standards with targets on scheduling practices and ticket sales but there was no penalty provision adopted.

The 3rd best university in the poorest state in the US is a pretty unattractive option for me. No need to add anyone now, i'd prefer wait and see how UTSA, UMass, Charlotte, Georgia St. ODU etc develop, or see if some of the western schools who arent interested now come around. No point in adding any of the remaining options.

Hate to do this BEAST, but USM > USF...

Based on what? Youve gone completely off the deep end lately. Its not our fault your school wasnt good enough for the ACC.

You asked, so you shall receive:

Southern Mississippi has a tradition of winning, they had 18 straight winning seasons and over the last decade they've averaged 7.2 wins a year with two 9-win seasons and one 11-win season. Over the past few years, their basketball has become much more solid and has probably overtaken USF. I think it is simply laughable for a school like USF (the poster boy for potential), to look down upon an addition of a program like Southern Miss that has achieved so much and has been a successful athletic program.

I have to agree. IMO.. USM is TWICE the overall program of USF. They obviously do not bring the market issue to the table...but..competitively...they are miles above USF as far as their total program. I honestly would be scared of what the impact of the added cash that being in the BE would do for USM. They get more mileage out of a small budget than anyone. Disregard them at your peril.03-idea

I have no problem what so ever being in associated with USM. I have the utmost respect for them.04-cheers

I'm not going to let this thread get into a pissing match of USF and USM. The facts are that USF is in the Big East and USM is not. Until then any threads or posts from this point on that continues to try to compare the two will be moved to the Smack board.
I hope I have made this perfectly clear.

As a Charlotte Fan, I'm fine with being in CUSA for a while. As a matter of fact, going up to the Big East isn't that big of an upgrade over the CUSA.

Let's face it, Big East football is probably going to lose it's auto status in the near future. The Bigger Conferences like the SEC, PAC 12, and B10 are already trying to distance themselves, so if you believe for one second they aren't trying to get more auto spots for their conference or make their conference more exclusive then you've seriously got something wrong with you.

Who said otherwise? I think those of us that have actually played football for decades understand the landscape of this. I guess the question you should ask yourself as a UNCC fan is why would I want to start a FB program knowing all this valuable information? I think you know the answer and it is the same answer that everyone would give. We all have a dream. I wish Charlotte all the best BTW.04-cheers

That's one of the reasons that I didn't bother to watch the so-call BCS national championship game. The Play-off will be an improvement, but d%#@ ... "Who asked for all of the other crap!!!"
