ECU takes NQer also. We can't help it yours just don't make the grades. See Chevelle Buie. Doc has taken NQes and only one hasn't made it.

DeAndre Kane was a NQ and will grad. after his JR year. Kane was actually diagnosed with learning disorder, as are most that end up as NQers. Marshall in the last 6 years have had 3 athletes grad with their Masters who started out at Marshall as a NQer.

Last year we took AJ Leggett who had a 23 on his ACT, not his fault that Miami admissions require a 26. This year we have 4 star Angelo Jean Louis who also wanted to go to Miami, he has already taken the ACT and has a 24, and will most likely be cleared.

Now go crawl back in you hole or up Leblow's a$$.

Buie? When did he make it on campus at ECU??? That's news to me. How can you take a kid and not have him on the team or in school????

We've taken a few over the years, mostly in state kids, but no more than 5 on the roster at anyone time. Plus, we would take them, but they have to sit a year, no football what so ever, get cleared by the NCAA to play and pass classes at ECU. Buie could not get into to school. We offere him and he signed his LOI to attend ECU, but never made it passed the NCAA clearing house. As he was a out of state student we didn't take him in to school and allow him to clear the NCAA here. He never came, so how did we take him????? I wait for answer...............................

So, you offered and had an LOI signed by an NQ'er. But since he, this example, didn't get in, it means you don't sign NQ'ers? You said, "We've taken a few over the years, mostly in-state kids..." BUT, you don't take NQ'ers? Hmmm. Does that mean that in-state kids who are NQ'ers are somehow not really NQ'ers? Are they really National Merit Finalists but you bring them in as NQ'ers to help hide them from other schools who might otherwise be interested?

Really? Do YOU believe what you post? Do you even read it?

Where did I say we haven't ever taken NQ's? I didn't, Buie never made here, so how did we take him here if he didn't ever make to campus? So, back to the original question, how did we take Buie if he never made here? One would think that in order to take a kid he'd actually have to show up and take classes.

Read my post, YES we've taken NQ's, but only in-state students and just like at Marshall they have to attend classes and clear the NCAA for a year on their dime, before they can even walk into any of the coaches' offices. I'm taking issue with you saying we took a kid that NEVER went here. It's one thing to offer a kid and for him to sign, but not make and another to take a NQ and allow them to enroll at school as student. You picked a piss poor example, every school has a recuit or two that don't qualify every year. The difference is if you allow them to enroll and allow them qualify over a year at school or not.

We didn't take Buie for several reasons, out-state kid that won't be able to afford out-state costs at ECU and his grades ended up not even being close.

Buie chose to go Juco instead of enrolling at ECU and sit for a year. If he had and made it you would have probably had your next Leonard Henry.

Last years game at Robertson was really special.

I'm so glad I got to see the last Tulsa Cougar game at that beautiful stadium.

Really bummed about the rice game being in Tulsa.

What? I played against Henry in HS. Henry had speed, but he was a bruiser at 6'1 210. Buie was just speed at 5'8 160. And, don't for get who was opening holes for Henry, one Vonte Leach.

BTW, Buie went JUCO for a reason, ECU wouldn't take him as a out-of-state NQ.

It worked out for the best for ECU, we got T'ea Cooper and coming soon Jabo Lee by way of Dillion SC.

Does anyone know when the dates will be set for these games? Or at least the order the games will be played?

"Associate commissioner Alfred White said C-USA is "right on schedule" for next week's projected release of the full football schedule."

UAB has 5 home games. 3 of there are Northwestern State, FAU, and Rice. Think that is gonna pack in the fans? We play who we play. Just go win.

I never thought I'd be the one to complain about this, but...UAB is flying to four different states for C-USA road games. Meanwhile, in its first year playing of C-USA opponents, UTSA will have two C-USA road games in Texas, with a third in Tulsa.

I know the schedule is going to shake out like this sometimes, but I say make the newbies do the road warrior stuff!

Its not favoritism...just the reality of being in a tight geographic division. The east teams are in 6 states...the west only 3...and basically just TX/LA.
