"Thoughts and prayers to our friends at USM and those in Hattiesburg and the surrounding area."--Ole Miss AD on Twitter....just thought that was a nice gesture.

Hope everyone is alright.

yeah, most returned last night or early this am. its even more horrible to think about if that thing had hit 24 hours earlier.
Glad it didn't happen. Hopefully everyone survives from Hattiesburg to Jackson, AL.

I have some friends in law enforcement and fire dept, gettin some reports that there are areas of hattiesburg that the can't get to bc of damage. Also hearing some of the injuries will turn into fatalities. Going to be a long night in Hattiesburg.

The scary part is that building survived Katrina with minimal damage I believe

Yes, not only because it was one of the 5 original buildings on campus, but also because we just spent several years doing a complete renovation and restoration of the building....

Prayers & Strength to all in the affected area(s).

Stay away from ALL downed power lines and consider them energized!!! They are the #1 threat after a major storm.

My cousin lives in Petal. His house has damage, his neighbors house is nothing but a slab. Lots of slabs in his neighborhood. First responders currently doing search and rescue as people are missing. Very sad, as I know his neighbors, they have 4 young kids. Lots of prayers please.

It's way worse than that. Sounds and looks more like the Alabama outbreaks over the last couple of years.
