Hands down it appears the leader in the clubhouse is Freddie Mercury.

I can't tell you how many times I listened to A Night at the Opera as a kid. Even though my musical tastes have evolved, it is still one of my favorite recordings.

Surprisingly, only one person came with Rob Halford, two for Maynard, and NONE for Bon Scott.

It is interesting...as I compiled my list, the attempt to ignore my favorite groups, think back 40+ yrs, and then narrow it down to just five was not easy. I am much deeper into the guitar/drum side of what I listen to and pretty much discount the lyrical/vocal side. However, I do have two vocalists and two guitarists (the other list) that are in the same band. It is just the way it worked out.

Sometimes during all this hullabaloo that we get caught up in on the CUSA board, it is nice to think about things like this to help break up the monotony.

I think it sucks this thread got moved. I never come to this board.

Well, Halford had some range. I can't see how Bon Scott would be considered a great vocalist though. He fit AC/DC's music to a T but in the grand scheme of things I couldn't go with greatest in a overall sense.

Since I'm bored, sick of ECU rhetoric, and an obvious insomniac...I have to ask the following questions.....where did I mention that Bon Scott was "great"? Where did the thread title mention "great". What part of "your favorite" was complicated? Does ECU have a remedial reading comprehension program that you skipped? This thread is so simple a 5 year old could've figured it out w/o direction.

Just because Freddie appeared the most, it only shows that he touched more people than other vocalists in this very small sample.

I think it was a pretty fair statement to say, "surprised....Bon Scott" was not mentioned as a favorite, when AC/DC would be listed in a lot of peoples favorite top 5 bands.

IMO, to define greatest is pointless. It would be akin to asking, "what is the greatest religion?" Music is personal chief. .....hence, "favorite"

I hope this helps with your understanding so you can hit the delete key the next time you ponder posting something like this.
