La Tech AP #25
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings

"While the West Coast Bulldogs made some news at the top of the poll Monday, Louisiana Tech, the Bulldogs from Down South, moved into the rankings for the first time since a 13-week run in 1984-85, their only appearance in the poll.

Louisiana Tech, which is 25th this week, was led back then to a ranking as high as No. 7 by a forward named Karl Malone. Gonzaga at that time had a point guard named John Stockton. They went on to become one of the greatest combinations in NBA history with the Utah Jazz, were members of the Dream Team and both were inducted in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame."

Congrats to you La Tech...I still think it is a feaking joke however that Middle lost a vote from last week after winning two 35 point blowouts. MT is 28th in the coaches poll this week.

Not to take anything away from Tech, but this is a perfect reason why we can't get out of the Sun Belt soon enough. There's just zero respect for that league.

We have the nation's 12th toughest non-conference schedule sitting at 25 wins and can barely get a vote in the AP.

There's not a whole lot of respect for CUSA either.

The national press is pitching the Memphis @ Xavier game tomorrow as some sort of true test as to whether Memphis is any good or just beating up on a "weak" CUSA.

Xavier has an rpi of 95. Memphis beat ECU (94) and USM (36) twice, UTK (57), Ohio (72), Harvard (80), and Loyola (92). Maybe not an earth shaking resume, but the real test is mighty Xavier, and not USM?

When there is no other top 100 team in the conference, that is an issue. Conference USA is having a down year and still has two teams in the top 50 and two more in the top 100. Unfortunately MTSU's OOC schedule was solid because it wound up having a lot of teams between 100 and 200(more specifically 100 and 150) and a couple of really solid games in Belmont and Florida. The issue with MTSU is they haven't beaten anybody of any consequence.(Ole Miss is their one top 100 win) I have watched the team several times, and it is a very good team, but the conference gives MTSU little to no room for error at this point. I'm excited to have you guys joining C-USA, and I believe the conference is going to be pretty solid at the top once all of the realignment happens.

RE: La Tech AP #25
That's precisely why it will be good for us to get away from the Belt. More opportunities to play higher stakes games. In the end, it's our own fault for agreeing to play at Belmont without a return home game. We played our worst game of the year against them and that would be a top 25 win if we would have gotten them at home. And losing at Akron in OT would have given us another top 50 win if we could have pulled it off. Win either of those two and perhaps we're ranked.

I chalk that up to lazy reporting more so than lack of respect. With the way you guys have been playing you're going annihilate Xavier.

Memphis shouldn't have any problem with Xavier.
