I think USM is a great program. But selling home games is not a positive development for a program looking to move up. I'd love to see them in the Big East (or whatever it's going to be called).

Personally, I would rather see USM and Tulsa in the NBE league (I am in it for the football), if it stays together. I do not see spending money to consulting firms for their advice though. Look where it has gotten the NBE so far.

They'd fit in CUSA 2.0 but the money issue means they aren't in a hurry to add anybody thats willing to join them.

Whatever they pay the consulting firm, it will be too much. Unless there is a realignment armaggedon or a zombie apocalypse, USM is not getting into the Big XII or ACC, so the nBE is their only possible destination for a "move up."

Their "choices" as I see it are to wait on an opportunity to move to the nBE, lobby the nBE for inclusion or go back to being independent.

Chuck Neinas has a consulting firm and as you recall he used to be the Commissioner and then interim commissioner of the B12. I think that ECU hired him to help with the AD search a while back and CUSA hired him to work on that MWC/CUSA clusterfudge.

One of these BE schools is going to pay him big bucks to help them get into the B12 to be the travel buddy for WVU.

None of the current BE schools can make the pie big enough to justify expansion for them. Their only hope is further raiding of the ACC or (less likely) the Big 12 falling apart and they get called up as replacements out of sheer necessity, not out of real desire to add them.
