Here's something else to consider: FSU to the XII would be considered a huge threat to the SEC as an intrusion into their market. UCF/USF would be much more of a clandestine movement for the XII - one that has a ton of potential, but also one to which the SEC isn't going to object so much. Considering the new XII/SEC partnership, could UCF/USF be a compromise move that still lets the XII get into Florida without the immediate detraction of taking FSU/Miami. Just thinking.

Yeah, We've had chances to win big games, and have failed. That's the next hump for UCF.

Well if the Big 12 needed 2 schools for a CG I could see this as right now no ACC school is heading there and 1 or 2 Florida schools opens up that state to the Big 12 for recruiting. After all the last 2 schools in were from the Big East although one came via MWC/BE so not totally out of line. Could maybe add Cincinnati and Memphis to boost the Basketball and bridge the gap for WVU.

I would think that if there is truth in this (big if) then it is the surest sign of ACC solidarity and survival. Or on the flip it could mean that the SEC and Big 10 are going large and that F.S.U. and Miami will be unavailable for the Big 12's entry into the Florida market. Given the choice of the two scenarios I would be heavily inclined to believe the former before the latter.

A TV market in Florida, Florida recruits, and they are looking for at least one Florida Bowl. Seems Florida has their attention at this time. If they can't reel in Florida St or Miami, why USF and UCF for future growth. Wouldn't doubt they might be Plan B if they can't get some ACC schools when they finally do expand. The are the largest Universities in Florida right now though they do lack the history and and the pedigree to be on the A List.

I want to say no way, but I could see how the Big XII desperately wants to get into Florida and perhaps the ACC is actually able to hold on to FSU/Miami. I still don't believe this could happen, but then again, the last year and a half has taught me that anything that could be bad for my school WILL happen sooner rather than later.

ACC or B12. Doesn't matter. FSU/Miami will be in one conference, USF/UCF will be in the other.

Guys the source on this is about as bad as they come. I would trust rumors started by posters on this board more than I would believe Tux Yoda

Yeah. I just can't see how if only F.S.U. and Clemson would add enough value for the Big 12 to expand how anyone could justify UCF and USF.

I doubt it would happen, but if the Big East (Aresco) responded with FAU/FIU, it would lock C-USA and the Sun Belt out of Florida for a long time.

The fact that he's a bad source doesn't mean there's not some validity to this. It just makes too much sense to be dismissed lightly.
