RE: BOK Center in Tulsa
Only an occasional game is played there since the Reynolds Center is a very good college venue on the TU campus. When TU plays in the BOK, its pretty cavernous and kind of like Tulanes FB games in the Superdome or UAB at Legion Field.

If TU can ever get back the enthusiasm we had a decade ago for basketball, that venue would be very good for a few bigtime games each year.

The BOK is an 18,000 seat arena that just opened a few years ago and is very popular for events from concerts to the recent Bassmasters event that sold out both the BOK and renovated Convention Center. The Convention Center is only a few blocks away and will host some of the CUSA girls games. It is an 8,500 seat multipurpose arena - a smaller, older version of the BOK. Both venues in downtown Tulsa are only a couple of miles from the TU campus.

The BOK was designed by world famous architect Cesar Pelli.

Actually Tulsa has some of the nicest BB facilities to host an event like an NCAA tournament or big conference tourney, but TU will have to become a big time basketball city again. Maybe in another year or two.

Just out of curiosity, does Tulsa really NEED 2 convention centers/arenas??
Are there that many things going on in Tulsa, that makes having 2 worth while??

I honestly don't know. No smack intended...

Well, keeping the old 9,000 seat Civic Center while adding the new 18,200 seat BOK Center allows fans to walk between the CUSA Men's & Women's tournaments.

The 5 year old BOK Center has surprisingly been one of the busiest & highest attended arenas in the US. For example, in the last month, the Bass Master Classic had huge crowds & "The Who" drew a sellout crowd ( 19,200 for concerts). So it has been beneficial to renovate & keep the civic center for smaller events.

Tulsa is a very fiscally conservative city. I know the BOK Center has been very profitable. I would guess the civic center is keeping busy enough to at least break even.

RE: BOK Center in Tulsa
The BOK Center is a fantastic venue. I attended the CUSA tourney the last time it was in Tulsa and was very impressed with the facility itself and the amenities it provides.

I always liked the old convention center also and that's where I watched TU play all of it's games from when I first started going back in the early 80s until I moved to Nevada in 1998.

I was disappointed when I attended the last CUSA tourney in Tulsa that they didn't have the women's games at the downtown Convention Center because if they had I would have attended some of the games. I think having them there this year was a good decision and will result in increased attendance for the women's games.

I believe there are three convention centers plus an 18,000 seat arena (BOK Center), an 11,300 arena (Maybee Center) an 8,335 seat arena (Reynolds Center), a 6,000 seat arena (Expo Square Pavillion) a 5,600 seat arena (UMAC), a 4,500 seat Spirit Event Center.

RE: BOK Center in Tulsa
If like a lot of people these days you would like to attend more than one game. Simply buy an upper bowl all session ticket then move down later when the game starts. All session tickets in the upper bowl are going for $47 in the upper bowl endzone and $87 for the upper bowls sides. I have never seen the lower bowl full while the tournament has been in Tulsa. Unless course you have the money to afford the lower bowl tickets which is fine. 04-jawdrop

We were there in 2010 and I thought it was a great venue. We stayed at a hotel about a block away and walked to everything. Of course we didn't have a car so walking was it.
