Isn't it overkill to have Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M and Arkansas in one conference for football?

Ole Miss? Are you talking about football, or tailgating?

Yes, so let's propose A&M/Ark to B12; GA/FL to B1G; and SC to ACC.

It is easier to destabilize the conference from the inside. This is all part of the master plan...

No way! We want FL & GA to the ACC; the B1G can have KY and TN. Hey, they're even contiguous!

All top twenty teams (with two in the top 5).
Really going to miss that schedule
EDIT: the best description I've heard for next year's ACC lax league is the Death Star Conference

Although Notre Dame moves to ACC July 1, Irish remain part of Big East's bowl lineup in 2013 if they don't make BCS bowl
I don't know if this is the case or not. Can't go to Russell Sports(can only take ND 1x in the 2010-13 period. So that's out. Didn't think there was any other option besides that game for the Irish. Like last year if they didn't make the BCS, they would have been a free agent if memory serves me right.
It is not true. McMurphy is wrong:
ND used up their Champs Sports Bowl 1-in-4. Per this link the only Big East bowl they could appear in is the Pinstripe and that would be on the Big 12 side of the house.

When the Pinstripe Bowl was first announced, several articles stated that Notre Dame could replace either the Big East or Big 12, but only if one of those leagues doesn't have enough bowl qualifiers and the Fighting Irish aren't heading to the BCS or Champs\Russell Bowl. Since the soon-to-be former Big East should almost certainly have at least four bowl teams next fall, the clause won't come into play, but I think it's technically possible.

3 losses and ND will be in a tight spot in theory but realistically they will still have the open bowls fighting over them.

Well, that's how you would do it if your commissioner was Mike Aresco.
Aresco is pathetic. Maybe he's really just going to be the C7 commish and has been working for them the whole time. That's the only way his actions would make any sense.
Why would we want him?

thing is they would have to hope though. Especially with the newbies from last year now eligible- that puts more schools in position. Got 3 14 team leagues- with all 14 in all 3 leagues eligible. I think Ohio St and UNC are back off probation now- so they're eligible. UCF questionable right now. I think of the 124 teams 123 are eligible this year(might be 122, not sure about UTSA). ND would have to do a lot of hoping quite frankly. Best bet may be Army not being eligible- going to the Poinsettia Bowl.

That is ok, Steve. I don't worry about this any more than I worried when ND was ranked #3 behind Oregon and Kansas State.
Things have a way of working themselves out.

RE: Official- ND to the ACC 2013

"Notre Dame's exit for all intents paralleled the Catholic 7's split Friday, according to sources familiar with the talks. The Irish paid no exit fee, per se, but agreed to claim a relatively small share of the Big East's cash reserves — one source put it at $1 million — while the football schools retained the bulk of that pool.
Notre Dame also took its NCAA tournament units, as the Catholic 7 did, a critical component in stockpiling postseason money for both the school and the ACC."
So they not only got out early, and free, but they got a million dollars and their bball credits too.
