The Conference TBD's Entire Marketing and Branding Strategy in One Post
1) Determine name ---- Big Metro (Big East/Metro hybrid name to hat-tip the traditions of most of the current membership)
2) Create logo for name ---- Incorporate past colors and schemes ---- Sharp, modern, high resolution, with a classic feel
3) Introduce tagline --- "Respect for our past, Excitement for our future"
Work with Nike to produce shirts, similar to "Witness" shirts, with new logo
4) Develop a) a major unveiling commercial with new name, and retrospective of the historical accomplishments of the teams under the new banner (ie. Phi Slamma Jamma, UConn/Memphis/Temple/Cincy bball, ECU Peach Bowl game, UCF/Georgia, Tulane '99, USF '07, Pony Express, Oscar Robertson, Chris Johnson, Ray Allen, etc.) then show clips of the new construction taking place, renderings, and finally......... unveil the new logo to a national tv audience during the NCAA Mens National Championship. After this has taken place, develop b) ads that run on a weekly basis in major news outlets (think Chrysler re-branding), coupled with commissioned op-eds that boost the profile and inform. Make a national caravan of coaches and university officials for media availabilities at every chance.
