Madison Square Garden: Maybe ACC should replicate B8's old Pre-Season Tourney
ACC is noted for its sending ending crazy wacky and, most of all, wonderful, end of season tournament to determine its #1 representative in the NCAAs.

But while just about every sports fans know that, most sports fans have forgotten about the highly successful and popular old B8 pre-season tourney in Kansas Cisty. Perhaps the ACC should look into some kind of tourney similar to that in NSG/NYC. Or just take the northeast ACC and C7, and make a tournament out of those old rivals.

I suggested a few months ago doing a "Big Apple Classic" with St. John's, Cuse, UConn, Rutgers and four lower NYC area programs like LIU-Brooklyn, Iona, Hofstra, Fordham, Wagner, Manhattan etc. Eight team preseason tourny that rotates between MSG, Prudential and Barclays.

I proposed a Dixie/Yankee Classic for the Christmas season, reviving the old Dixie Classic. Half the schools in the ACC play in the northeast and half in the southeast each season. Have two host teams at rotating sites like, Miami, Atlanta, Raleigh, NYC, Boston and Pittsburgh, everybody plays and add a special guest school to make an even 16. Games don't count on the conference standings.

The ACC used to play a BIG FOUR tournament in Greensboro (Carolina, Dook, Wake Forest, State) before Christmas.
