Final Score:
Michigan Wolverines 30
Iowa Hawkeyes 17
A few observations:
1. The Hawkeyes had no answer to Braylon Edwards. 150 yards, 1 TD, today. There is a reason he is the No. 1 wide receiver in the Big Ten and he showed it again today.
2. Chad Henne, a true freshman, showed again today why he is the No. 1 quarterback at Michigan. Some great throws and NO interceptions.
3. Michael Hart has emerged as the No. 1 tailback for the Wolverines. As a true freshman, he scored his first Michigan TD today. Expect many more in the years to come.
4. Story of the Game: The Michigan Blitz ... Tate got tattooed today. The Hawkeye o-line was simply unable to keep the blitzing Wolverines from pounding Tate again and again.
5. Going into this game today, the Michigan Defense was No. 1 in the Big Ten in fumble recoveries and takeaways. They showed why again today.
6. As for Iowa, three words: fumbles, fumbles, fumbles. You can't turn the ball over that many times to the Wolverines and expect to win at the Big House. Especially when you turn the ball over so close to your own goal line.
7. Three more words for Iowa: penalties, penalties, penalties. And most of them at exactly the wrong time. The Hawkeyes are going to have to stop the self-inflicted errors if they expect to have a successful season.
Go Blue! :roflol:

Congrats on the win, but Iowa is not a top five team in the conference. OSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin are all better.
Braylon Edwards is good, but Michigan will lose four games this year because Chad Henne can't do anything.

Michigan will lose four games this year because Chad Henne can't do anything? Absurd.
Henne had another solid performance today leading Wolverines to victory over Iowa, completing 16-of-26 passes for 238 yards. He threw one touchdown pass and scored his first career Michigan touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak.
Henne can't do anything? The Wolverines sure don't believe that. And after today's game, neither do the Hawkeyes.

The Hawkeye defense stinks. Wait until the play the better defenses in the Big Ten, then we will see what he can do. Against Notre Dame, Henne was ineffective. He has the skills, but does not have the maturity yet.

Actually, the problem for the Michigan offense during the Notre Dame game was the lack of an effective running game. It was not, as any objective observer of the game would conclude, a problem at quarterback. Rather, Chad Henne, making his first road start as the Michigan quarterback in front of the largest crowd ever to watch a Michigan game at Notre Dame Stadium, completed 25 of 40 passes for 240 yards with one TD and one interception. Not bad for a guy who just got back from his Junior/Senior prom six months ago.
Another fundamental flaw in your analysis is that your prediction of a four loss Michigan football season this year is premised on the mistaken notion that the Wolverine's effectiveness is fixed at this point in the season and, unlike other Wolverine teams of the past, this one will not improve as the season progresses. That is error. A simple comparison of how the Wolverines performed against Miami (Ohio), Notre Dame, SDSU and Iowa plainly demonstrates significant and steady improvement at almost every position on both offense and defense.

I saw Henne miss several wide open receivers in that game. It is not about the stats. David Carr threw for the 313, 1 TD, 1 INT last week but still did not play that well. He kept throwing short passes and relying on yards after the catch. The stats do not tell all of the story.
I agree that Henne will improve over the season, but he will still lose at Purdue and OSU, and possibly at home to Minnesota. The schedule gets tougher.

Well, as a Buckeye fan, I would expect you to continue to predict that Michigan will lose to OSU this year. Buckeyes always believe they will beat Michigan, their most important game of the season. Most of the time, however, the result is otherwise.
Stats are a good measure of a quarterback's performance and development. Any suggestion to the contrary opens the door to much more subjective analyses which can be more easily spun any way you want them to go.
As for this year's game between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes, no "reliable" prediction can be made until both teams play several more games and their improvement, lack thereof, and possible injuries are factored in to the equation. Who can forget when Woody Hayes brought the No. 1 Buckeyes to Ann Arbor in 1969 to show the Wolverines how to play football? I was at that game and, when it was over, the Buckeyes had that classic deer-caught-in-the-headlights-look. Woody later told Bo that he would never win a bigger game. Woody was right.
As for Purdue, they play Notre Dame, Penn State and Wisconsin before they meet the Wolverines. The Irish are playing well at this point and should give the Boilermakers a run for their money, Penn State will probably get blown out, and the Wisconsin game is probably a toss up at this point. Again, hard to make reliable predictions at this point so far in advance of the games so these are no better than "informed" guesses on my part.

That is funny coming from a worthless nut fan. Does that mean the bucks will lose 5 games? Zwick can do less than Henne.

As you can see:
Completion %: Henne
TDs: Henne
TD-INT ratio: Henne
SOS: Henne
Zwick has more total yards, but that's it. (They're listed as 67 and 68).

Stanton's a good QB, no doubt........ too bad he's stuck on a team w/o a very good defense and WRs that drop a good amount of his passes.

I guess I can't argue that statement, 24-6 in the 3rd and Iowa is using their 4th string tailback :bang:
