It might make sense for the MAC to add James Madison for 2014-15 and then ODU/Delaware for 2015-16. The MAC can't afford to wait too much longer looking for expansion candidates.
But there is no particular reason why the MAC needs to go to 16, so they could also look to adding James Madison OR ODU OR Delaware.

Or if the A-10 were to invite James Madison for Olympic Sports after a New Big East raid on SLU and Dayton, and James Madison decided it was interested in stepping up in football, the MAC might take JMU football-only.

ODU has no reason to go to the MAC. We do not fit their profile, and are not in their geography. If we went to the MAC, our forums would riot.

Looks like I was right on 4 out of 5 so far. With WKU gone, wonder who #5 is. I would think it would have to be Liberty or JMU. Are there even any other viable candidates. A Lamar or SHSU would also make sense, but I bet TXST blocks that and don't even know if they are interested.

3.5 right, I don't see fb only by NMSU05-stirthepot
You forgot to put Missouri St., Chattanooga, Jacksonville St., on the other list.

Four for five so far. Better than my NCAA bracket which was a complete bust.

I'll stay with Missouri State as my prediction to replace WKU. JMU is the fallback pick. I'll be surprised if Liberty or Jacksonville State gets the nod.

I will never support such a phony institution such as Liberty. I'm not alone. They aren't a real college. They discriminate. They apparently are the private property of a family. Their football stinks. Their coach is a loser, but he is a sanctamonious F"C"A blowhard. Liberty is involved in shocking human rights abuse advocacy. They aren't interested in competing, but rather as using my conference as a platform to preach AT people. If they get in the confernce, be prepared for them to demand that we all be adhere to their talibanic demands.

And can you just imagine the epic game day experience at Liberty for visiting fans? Abuse of non-Christians, no alcohol, and can you imagine all the hotness of perhaps catching a glimpse of some "hot ankle" on the fundamentalist coeds?

I thank God that the fundamentalist Gottfrieds are gone from USA. I've already called the alumni office and have let them know that if anyone in the AD at USA supports the inclusion of Liberty, that my Jaguar donations will end immediately and will not be reinstated until Liberty drops football.
Tom in Bitterbrook you show what a total hateful person you are.I really feel sorry for you that you hate God so much.I can feel the hatred oozing from your words you just need to get a life. Why don't you put that much energy into hating the murder of the unborn, child molesting, killing of the innocent, rapist, and drunk driving that murders people.Oh, by the the way you use this platform to preach you Liberal doctrine of Christian bigotry.

Oops. Looks like Missouri State is off the table:

I guess five-for-five was too much to expect.

RE: If Sun Belt adds 5 to get to 12, who will they be (assuming WKU gone)
Quote:Ideas to upgrade Missouri State’s football stadium as well as construction of two new, on-campus venues — one for soccer and track, the other for field hockey/lacrosse — are gaining traction. Student fees are one way the university is thinking of paying for it.

But Clif Smart, the university’s president, made one thing clear Tuesday: A recent meeting of about 30 boosters did not cover the football Bears jumping up to NCAA Division I.

“We really didn’t talk about realignment. There is no conversation going on now about going Division I or realignment,” Smart said. “If that were to happen, that would happen way down the road.”

Smart later added, “Frankly, we think that improving our facilities will help us recruit better players to put a better product on the field.”

Good catch Mongoose.

It sounds like Missouri State is off the table for a few years yet.

The fact that THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER referred to moving to FBS as "moving to Division I" ought to have them rethinking that.

Hummmm.

Your response indicates that hating Liberty is equal to hating God.

Yet I think it is rather true that there are millions of people who love God, attend church weekly and do numerous good deeds in the name of Jesus who find the theology of Liberty to be at one end off-putting to dangerous and even heretical.

But we know those people hate God because they aren't nearly so enlightened as those with the real truth.

Read your response again. It gives you all the answers to why there is so much opposition to Liberty. But you won't learn for it you'll just snap judge that anyone opposed to Liberty is a taxing, spending, baby murdering drunken rapist homosexual black muslim.

I'm just glad that Tom now has New Mexico State, Georgia State, Idaho etc in the Sun Belt. What a relief that the other schools left to get them! Happy for you!

Why would any conference subject itself to Liberty daily drivel? Just say no.

I was actually interested in adding Liberty but their fans have put me in the "NO" camp. They've been good witnesses for the school.
