The tournament
One thing I see in the tournament is teams changing their style of play....the style that got them to the tournament. Memphis being a great example, instead of playing the slugfest of the Big Ten.....which gives the other team's Big men the advantage......they should have been running up and down the court.....make those big guys run down the floor every time instead of letting them loaf along from end to end. I think Memphis could have won the 2nd half if they had gassed those big guys in the first half. You are seeing a lot of this in the tournament, even in the round of 32......halftime scores under 30 or real close to it by teams that easily played regular season games in 75-85 point range. Why, I'll never know. I think FGCU is one of the few who are playing their game.....by the way, one of the other teams that are playing their normal game is Florida so I think FGCU will run out of luck....but I hope not.

RE: The tournament
I've always thought a more wide open, faster style always tends to develope players to play with more intensity for longer periods of game time. Slower mbb was pushed by the refs and the Bobby Knights as "tradtional" and something that must be preserved. That is bunk and has created nothing more than pushing and shoving in the lane imo. Coaches like Knight should not dictate how the game is played by intimidating the refs to "let it go" and become a physical rather than a finesse game as it was meant to be.

MBB is a sport that evolves and expands along with the size and speed of the players. I remember when Loyola Marymount was scoring over 100pts per game. The powers that be tried everything they could to slow them down.

Lets face it, everyone from the kid in the back yard to the NBA all star loves to score and do it spectacularly.
