I am confused? You said you didn;t think it was true, then repeated what I said. Did I miss something, or did we not realize we were saying the same thing?

Also to add to your list of people looking for the demise of the ACC, you forgot 4) fans of the Metro or A12 (old Big East) looking to move up.

Yeah, but who expects West Virginia fans to know the terms of their own TV contracts? They are too busy spreading realignment rumors.

As I always say, It is entire possible that the ACC could lose teams to the B1G or the SEC: both conferences have been looking to take teams from the ACC and the Big East (though WV and Big XII fans forget they have taken 150% more teams from the Big XII than the ACC). However the PAC 12, should they decide to expand, well they only have on place they can shop for groceries. Four of them jumped at the chance last two times they called (the fifth team, Texas, turned it down for the remaining four). As it stands now, if ESPN wants to stabilize it's properties that its fully vested in (the ACC and SEC) all it has to do it utlize its opt out clause on the LHN, then Texahoma is gone west Beverly Hillbillies style.
I actually think you are being generous to the Big XII.

Unless I'm missing something, it's Nebraska, Mizzou, Texas A&M v. Maryland: I'm not sure how you got the 150% unless you are counting USCarolina, but I think kthat would be a stretch given that it was a long time ago, and USCarolina went indy first. However, if you're going to count USC, then I feel like you should also count GT going the other way and Arkansas leaving the SWC. none the less, you basic point is 100% right.

I'm nit-picking. There's a difference between minimum qualifications, and suggested minimum qualifications. Minimum qualifications means that they would not take any team that isn't in the AAU. Suggested minimum qualifications means that they might take a non-AAU school, but would prefer to take an AAU school. We agree is spirit. I just think that UCONN is in an even slightly worse position than you suggested, because if AAU membership was a minimum qualification, then they wouldn't have to compete with non-AAU schools, like ND and Syracuse. If it's a suggested minimum standard, then they would have to beat out the Irish and the Orange if they decided to jump to the B1G.

Using your employment analogy, if a job requires a BS but the company hiring would prefer to hire an MBA, the minimum degree needed to get the job would be a BS, but the suggested minimum would be a MBA.

My math was off. It was 3 vs. 1 and for some reason I divided the number by two. It should have been 300%.

And yes I was purely talking about the SEC and Big Ten taking teams. The PAC 12 issue is an entirely different issue,. a big issue, that will become a problem for them at some point if they get hungry again.

They went to the Pac, not the B1G or the SEC. I think he was only talking about evil empire expansion.

However, you make a good point. The Big 12 has lost 33% of its conference, and it replaced two of those schools with a mid major and an island. I hear that if Texahoma leaves, then they are going to have to lose the "Big" from their name.

So the Big 12 grabbed a Big East school and one that was heading to the Big East but now They only want ACC schools as the remaining Big East schools are Not good enough. Wow that's funny.

WOW! You're 100% right.

The rest of the Big XII is like Coast to Coast AM. They give WVU a forum and they go along with it.

For anyone who doesn't know who Alex Jones is, this is his site:

There is one reason that the hoopies keep spreading all these rumors...

But they secretly wish that they had this!

Step #1: Read WVU Board

Step #2: Recall the movie "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia"

Step #3: Realize WVU fans posting abut expansion probably aren't that far off from the White clan

Step #4: Laugh uncontrollably at WVU "expansion gurus"
