Nate McLouth is now a National. Like him as a player when he played for Baltimore. Hope he contributes well for the Nationals.

RE: OT:Washington Nationals
Nats with another good trade. Although hate to see Karns go.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/was/wash...y=news_was
Quote:"The Nationals acquired the backup catcher they had been seeking, acquiring Jose Lobaton, outfielder Drew Vettleson and left-hander Felipe Rivero from the Rays for right-hander Nathan Karns, who was seen packing his clothes in the Nats' clubhouse Thursday morning. Washington and Tampa Bay had been talking for at least a month about a trade for Lobaton."

Congrats to Zimmerman on the no hitter and to Steven Souza, Jr. for saving the no hitter. What a game and what a catch! http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v36703055

I'm a big believer in sabermetrics and statistics, but man did the Nats just look uninspired and lost during the DS. I know it's virtually impossible to measure attitude or force of will, but the Nats had none of that against the Giants (outside of Harper, Rendon and Zimmermann).

Bad balls and strikes calls and our failure to adjust to that did us in. We need to have a lineup that isn't full of bums that can't hit against quality teams.
If we didn't stand there are stare at every pitch, we would've fared better in this series. The giants hitters just wanted it more and weren't content to go 0-5 and 1-5 every game.

What I don't get is how you can have a great record, beat a team in the regular season, but then in the post season, stink it up. I love the Nats, but goodness, they have yet to prove they can win a series in the post season.

Playoff baseball doesn't make sense. The Braves made the playoffs like 12 straight years, with multiple HOFers and only won once...while the Giants, who probably don't have a HOF on their roster (maybe Posey and MAYBE Bumgarner) can win 3 in 5 seasons.

RE: OT:Washington Nationals
it's a combination of luck, generous balls and strikes calls in favor of your team, hitters that can hit when it matters most and pitchers that can pitch when it matters most.
it's also starting to look advantageous to be the team in the Wild Card game. That extra postseason game, win and advancement is seeming to help teams from a momentum standpoint. It's looking more like Rust and not Rest for the opponent that is waiting to find out their WC winner.

Surprised no one is on this thread. Nats go up 3-0 in the NLCS. 1 Game away from the WS.

I’m here! Bummed that I probably won’t be able to attend even one game of this postseason, but cheering from home nonetheless.

The Nats need to be relaxed tonight. Wish I could be there also. A bit out of price reach for me at this time.

I’m willing to dump the $$$ on it, but finding the time is HARD for me during fall.

I am glad they got the Cardinal monkey off their back. They always seem to have the Nats number. Not this time.

Really seems like the Astros will be in the WS to play the Nats. Will see how the Yanks play tomorrow.

Yanks with the win tonight over Verlander. Still thinking Astros win it out and probably tomorrow.
