Exactly what I was thinking. This time last year Clemson had the #1 recruiting class in the country but then Ole Miss opened up their pocket books some students changed their minds.

I didn't expect such an ill-informed comment from you. To my knowledge, only one recruit who had originally committed to Clemson, then decommitted and later signed with Ole Miss. Several other early commits decided to sign with other schools, so I wouldn't blame Ole Miss for Clemson's fall just because one recruit decided to play where his older brother was already playing. Ole Miss' good recruiting class this year was the result of a fortunate combination of family ties, friendship connections, hard work and some luck. Statements to the contrary suggests jealousy, ignorance or a combination of the two.

It was meant to be a joke. I've actually written about this in my blog where I gave Ole Miss credit for having a good recruiting strategy.

Sorry if I touched on something that's maybe a little too sensitive.

With their very small television markets, save Missouri and Texas A&M, I do not see how the SEC is going to survive the next several rounds of conference expansion. The writing is clearly on the wall as it pertains to this top recruit who was "taken" by the ACC.

Hey, isn't this tongue-in-cheek stuff about a week too late?

The kid still has to sign on the dotted line, make it to campus, and play up to his potential. I've seen highly ranked kids that amounted to nothing, and switching verbals happens all the time. So I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch...

I still remember Jason Gwaltney. He was supposed to be a can't miss RB prospect, and he had a ton of talent. If he'd have applied himself, he'd be in the NFL today. But a knee injury, coupled with a lack of effort in the classroom and rehabbing doomed him to failure. It's a pity too, because he was the real deal up until his injury...

Scooter made a name for himself in Morgantown. That's for sure. But he never made the kind of impact in the NFL that Gwaltney would have, if he'd have applied himself. That's why Scooter is playing Canada now. He didn't have Gwaltney's talent. Scooter made it due to grit and hustle. If only his brother had that along with the talent...
