Money makes a big difference in facilities, how much you can pay staff and recruiting strategies. The big schools can lure the best coaches because of the money. Recruits like seeing great facilities and recruiting is benefitting because more staff can be hired to track and evaluate recruits. Unfortunately money makes a huge difference in football. Because of the money issue I have changed my mind and now believe have 16 schools in the Conf is a bad idea because it dilutes the tv money so bad. If ECu was staying in the Conf I would hope that our admin would be against it.

You should care. Money affects so much for a school and its athletic programs.

No money = You can't retain coaches. UTEP does not have much experience when it comes to coaches getting poached. Our coaches last 4-5 years and then bolt for P5 because of pay raises and better competition. This is why all schools not in P5 are busting their arses trying to get into P5, Houston being one of them

You may very well be right. If the figures that I'm seeing are correct, it would cost each team approximately $300,000 a year but that could be offset to some degree by reduced travel costs.

A sixteen-team conference would expand the conference fan base giving Fox or the second tier purchaser more choices. Should make it pretty close to break even and a plus in the long run.

You mean you didn't get a revenue sharing check? You don't buy this sort of ink just with a disability checks:

$$$$ = whether or not your chosen team can compete. That's the reason most of us care.

I don't care about money. If I hear anything about money other than "please send us some," then our AD has failed, in my opinion.

It gives us ammo in pissing contests.
