What type of expansion plans does GaSo have in mind for Paulson?

Paulson Stadium was designed from the beginning to be expanded to as much as 50K
I've never been but am looking forward to it now.

We kicked their tail back to back seasons in the playoffs.

App will be fine but they will be the 7th FBS school in NC. The state of GA has much more talent than NC and only 4 FBS schools. I would say advantage Ga Southern.

Ga Southern has had the highest ranked team in the Sagarin ratings the past two years.

If by "Kicked their tail" you mean winning on a BS call the first year and losing by 2 scores in the 4th this past year? Then yeah, you kicked our tail. Barely.

I'd say that ODU has more money, support, and a better location. And we're only the 3rd FBS team in VA. Advantage ODU. 04-rock

Number of FBS signees in 2013:

GA 184
NC 81
VA 58

You should know this considering your Franchise player is from Georgia.

Which is why most of our recruiting is now in the state of Georgia. 03-wink

I agree with the UMass guy. Southern in the short term due to the Flexbone, but App and ODU in the long term. At the scrimmage this past Saturday, App's defense looked scary good and the new DC defended the Triple Option in practice every day for 12 years at Wofford. ODU needs to recruit defense outside the 757 as they produce mostly offensive prospects.

Always much tougher long term relying on out of state talent. Tennessee did well for a while with it and made it to the top, but long term they couldn't sustain it.

The problem defensively has been mostly with the coaching, not the talent.

Ga Southern vs ODU in 2012. The video cuts out all the down time...awesome game. 49-35 Ga Southern.

And one more point. App has made it to the FCS final four 6 times compared to 13 for Ga Southern. Now they are suddenly going to be better than us in a state with twice the FBS teams with half the talent? They did beat Michigan in one game which trumps all I guess.

In the last 10 years, App have been conference champs (or co-champs) 7 times, Ga Southern have been champs (or co-champs) 3 times. I think that regular season performance is a better metric to predict who will be more successful in FBS football.

That said, in the 10 years before that, Ga Southern were more successful in the regular season, clearly these things go back and forth but for the coming years, I back App.

App has pulled in 14 guys from GA the last two years beating GSU for many of them, we'll be alright.

Ok, somebody other than GaSo and App St pleaseeeeeeeeee. I am tired of the constant bickering. GaSo fans think they will be good and win every game they play the same as App St. Let's cut it out..

Well, UTSA played a full WAC schedule already. We got hit hard by Rice, SJSU, LaTech, and Utah St. last season. We won against Idaho, NMSU, South Alabama, TxSt, and GaSt.

This season we play in C-USA with OOC of OkSt, Arizona, Houston, and New Mexico.

From hearing the other listed team's schedules it appears UTSA has the toughest in 2013.

But then we probably shouldn't be on the list. Especially if TxSt and South Alabama aren't on the list. Yes, TxSt is a full FBS this year but the scheduling puts UTSA on par with both the TxSt and South Alabama transitions. So you should compare UTSA, TxSt, South Alabama, and possibly GaSt. Then the other schools.

As a Charlotte fan, I'll go with ODU. I think, given the support and recruiting area, they will be just fine.

It'll take Charlotte a few years. Heck, our first recruiting class was before we even announced our move to FBS so we've only had one class where the coaches targeted FBS caliber athletes. Who knows if Charlotte will be able to contend, I sure hope so. I just know I really want the trifecta of App/Charlotte/ECU to rival the ACC dominance of this state.

Your schedule looks like our schedule from last season (with the exception of Alabama). Glad to see you will have a few FCS games to help.

My opinion about our schedule being harder still stands.

Also, (not that you care) below is our schedule. Rice and Tulsa will compete for C-USA crown this season. Arizona is a monster (in case you didn't watch them last season). So is OkSt. UTEP has always had the talent, and now they have a new coach and much to prove. Houston got caught by the short hairs last season by TxSt and they won't let it happen again. LaTech and UNT will be hard hitting games this season. UAB has been getting better and better. That leaves New Mexico and Tulane. Neither of which are taken lightly.

So, every game is full FBS. No breaks.

I'll call it a wash since you have about 3 teams on there that arent much better than FCS and you only play one game where youre going to get slobber knockered (OSU). We play 2 of those.

Although I voted for UTSA, I don't think UTSA should be in this poll. They already played a complete WAC schedule last year and defeated TXST, Georgia State, South Alabama, NMSU, and Idaho. They've had like 3 years worth of FBS recruits and now have a lot of upper classmen. Of the remaining teams, I would say ODU has the best chance at being succesful. Haven't watched their QB yet, but I understand he put up huge yardage.

Man, I hope you are right about only being clobbered by one team! But Arizona is a monster too.

I really want to call it a wash but it won't be that easy. I agree you have a tough schedule and I hope you are right about it being a wash.

Good luck this season.
