Interesting observation, because the fans in Oklahoma City, Memphis, Denver and Oakland(Golden State) hung around and thanked their teams when their playoff runs ended. ESPN eluded that Miami is not a good sports town, & used this instance as an example as to why.

Could ABC and the announcers for the game (esp. "Van Gumball" 03-puke) have been any more obvious as to who they were rooting for in the series? IMO, the deck is clearly stacked against the San Antonio Spurs for game 7, their margin for error is practically non-existant now, the title was theirs for the taking and they let the Heat(rash) off the hook by not knocking down their key free throws. All hands on deck now...

Because a handful of fans got up to leave with 25 seconds left and the Heat down by 5? You're a joke as are the haters at ESPN (esp. Van Gundy). If you look at the replay of Allen's 3, the place is packed and explodes.

Sorry the backwater town you live in aint got the world's attention on it....haters gunna hate I guess.

Well you have to admit that your team is the bandwagon equivalent of ManU. Your fans were Lakers fans three years ago.

This article on SBNation helps a little: http://www.poundingtherock.com/2013/6/19...in-between

Regardless of what happens, I love this team.

To anyone talking about fixes in this thread, re-watch that fourth quarter and see how hard Miami fought and try to tell me the game was fixed.

I hate to say it, but I'm getting to where my feelings are neutral on the Heat. I hate the 2010-11 Heat that acted entitled. There's no way I can't respect the Heat that I have seen this series.

I have nothing but respect for each and every individual Heat player. I have NO respect for the way they acquired two of the big 3 though. They're a microwave team. I didn't like when Boston did it either.

I've been a Bulls fan my entire life and I know they were the super team of the 90's but that was more than a decade of building through drafts, trades, retirements, returns, firing a coach, hiring the assistant, getting over the Detroit and LA humps, etc. Miami just bought a lot of people and started winning.

IDK, the only Finals I can remember I felt rigged was the Pacers/Lakers.

Miami is basically the NY Yankees of Basketball in the way they built that team. Makes me want to vomit to tell you the truth. The Spurs are the complete opposite IMO. F' Miami.

Another moronic comment from an ECU fan, what a shock. 04-jawdrop

If the news hasn't gotten to Greenville yet, the Heat won the championship in 2006 and the Heat have been fighting for EC championships since the mid 90's. The franchise turned around when Arison bought the team and brought in Pat Riley, the next year they won over 60 games, this was in like '97.

Do us all a favor and keep your ignorance to yourself, the Heat have been winning for a long, long time.

I never said that they weren't winning, which they weren't between 2007-2010 (blown out by 40+ by the Bulls on your own ring day in 2007). I said that the majority of their fans are bandwagoners. That's not an ignorant statement when regarding the city of Miami. Look at the Hurricanes and Marlins. It was hilarious seeing the Marlins' stadium open to fanfare and half a season later they couldn't give tickets away to homeless bathsalt users.

We're talking about the Heat, so yes, the comment is ignorant and you setting-up a straw-man (Marlins and 'canes) to try to support your arguement proves it. Also, please show me your Heat 'bandwagon' statistics if you are so confident in your statement (just because ESPN is so far up Labron's colon they can tell you what he had for breakfast doesn't mean the Heat are a new thing down here).

I love how people 1500 miles away are such experts on other people's communities [this is the height of arrogance and ignorance].

By the way, who gives a 01-rivals about the Hurricanes? and why would you list them with professional franchises, they're an overpriced, 15,000 student school who has cheated their way to the top since day one. That's why no one supports those games.

I went with the other two teams because they've also won championships and they were all the rage. The Hurricanes are actually closer to the situation than the Marlins are, so I should exclude the Marlins. People across the nation suddenly became fans out of nowhere (reminds me of someone). They had more fans than many sports teams at the time. People stopped going because they started losing.

I wish there were bandwagoner statistics just like I wish there could be stats for real fans. But for right now, a person can only go by anecdotal evidence and neither one of us can prove each other wrong.

First, define 'bandwagon fans' without using relative terms.

See, it's a catch-all pejorative to denigrate a fan base, in other words, an attack. Do me a favor and keep them to yourself.

Bandwagon fans are fans that just suddenly start to root for a team for the superstar/immediate winning factor.

Hell yeah I'm denigrating your fan base. I didn't say it to be nice sweetheart.

OK. So Greenville NC is a hick town full of bare-foot, thick-browed red-necks, who have nothing more to live for than ECU football in the fall. Sounds like a happening place....enjoy.

It's more ghetto than a hick town. But it is rather unpleasant off campus and that's why I don't live there. On the other hand Miami is a town that would be nothing without good weather and cocaine.
