It is a wonderful place, but a major cultural change, no family around, etc. if he has the right mental outlook he will literally have the best time of his life. If he's prone to homesickness and/or doesn't like a lot of change in his life, he'll leave after a while.
I'd love it. Great place, great people, and as noted above: chicks, man.
