Cato has only played 5 1/2 quarters in the first two games. Not worried about his stats. I like that we have rushed for 550 yards though.

Man, who ever that Banker guy is, looks like he was right about Marshall's defense.

It is not Marshall's defense, it is the Miami of Ohio and Gardner-Webbs offenses. In case you didn't notice Kentucky held Miami of Ohio's offense to half as many points (7) as Marshall did (14). Or rather I should state that Miami of Ohio held themselves to half as many points against Kentucky as they did Marshall, because Miami of Ohio is turrible in all phases of the game and we already know that Kentucky is horrible on offense and defense.

ODUs qb threw 3td 0int against ecu and 0td 3int against Maryland.

you gotta love how some of folks on both sides think they can extrapolate stats/results from previous games, opponents, and opponents' opponents into future game results. Every scheme/gameplan is unique. You'd think college football fans would understand this by now.

ODU moved the ball well against Maryland, they just didn't get into the endzone. Be that as it may; no ECU fan is bragging about ECU's defense.

Miami just beat Florida.

We must have a better defense than Miami and Florida!

Cato does look good so far. I don't think you have any reason to worry about his stats.

Ill wait a few more games before I talk about defense from either team. Marshall has hardly played a team capable of really competing and ECU hasn't played a complete team yet either.

Offenses producing as expected so far.

Wrong. Last year we played some really bad teams and got lit up. WCU is one of the worst teams at the FCS level. They have won something like 4 games in 3 seasons. They scored 21-24 points on us last year. You can talk all you want but the way they are playing is huge improvement from last year. Sure as the competition increases so will the scores however you will not see the scores we gave up last season. There are no more ***** 8-10 yard cushions on the outside. There are no more players playing every single snap of a game. There are no more players not knowing where they are supposed to be an blowing assignments.

Last year we had 2 CBs. All of which were pretty badly hurt that should not have been playing. Montavious Lovett was out there playing with a severe ankle sprain on on leg and a stress fracture on the opposite leg. The other two CBs in Thomas and Baxter had some serious shoulder injuries that had to be overlooked. Baxter's was so bad I don't even know if he has played yet this season.

Talk all the trash you want but this defense is at least 3 scores better than last year.

Then they will just get beat over the top like they did against the Miami of Ohio offense. Your team's big claim to defensive fame is holding a bad FBS team a bad FCS team to 14 points. Hell using your logic then Kentucky should be in the National Championship game, because they held that stinking mess of a Miami of Ohio offense to 7 points; and we already know that Kentucky's defense is terrible. But keep wearing your green tinted glasses.

Who are you skip bayless. That is stupid. I said our defense has improved. Sorry if you don't think our defense is as good as your purple pecker eaters. We will see soon enough. Keep acting like we're pushovers. Last time I checked it took ECU 10 quarters to beat Marshall.

Last time I checked that was Marshall's only win in the last 5 years against ECU.... and it took them the catch of the year, overtime, and an interception to win that one. 05-stirthepot

Thought it was time to get the thread started again since the pissing matches continue in nearly every thread that mentions ECU or Marshall.

Can't wait till we shut down FAU so ECU fans can once again claim we haven't played any good offenses. I guess we don't play a good offense till the last game of the season since ECU fans don't think anyone is good but them. Never mind that UTSA came in to our game as the second best offense in CUSA (and #1 certainly isn't ECU).

Five weeks in to the season - Marshall #1 offense, Marshall #1 defense.

This is better... pissing matches go here, not in other threads.

FAU's offense isn't great by any stretch, but seeing how they compete against Marshall will be a little bit of a tell as to whether FAU is improving, or it was just because they played UAB last week. I really think FAU will compete well with Marshall, and coming off a win they will want to maintain a little momentum.

For this post's obligatory pissing match contribution.....

Banker, you keep Marshall's #1 offense and #1 defense. I'll keep ECU's record. 04-cheers

I'll be at the game, lol'ing at the thunderclap.

The final (foreseeable) game, for all the CUSA marbles...it's going to be great. This is one of the games I'll miss the most next year...

UTSA offense is not even ranked nationally in the statistics, neither is Gardner Webb's nor ODU's. Secondly, ECU held FAU to 13 points, 7 of which came on the last play of the game.
