RE: OT - Jack Brown's
I've tried to go to Jack Browns probably a dozen times now and never been able to sit down. Granted, I'm not a very patient person, but I'm not going to wait an hour to have a burger when I can walk somewhere else.

I'd love to see Jack Browns relocate to a bigger spot downtown if something opens up.

The "To-Go" business at Jack Browns always amazes me. They have a constant flow of people coming in for take-out.

My wife and I were with friends at jb today and the manager barb shared some information with us.
She said they are currently looking to open two new locations. One in the fan in Richmond and another in DC. She didn't specify where in DC.

No matter when we go to hburg, any time, even at 11am when they open, they're always slammed. They could almost use a second hburg location I would say.

RE: OT - Jack Brown's
Jack Browns makes an excellent burger, but they need to bring in some new workers. Every time we're in/pass through Harrisonburg, I stop in with my girlfriend. Every time we go, we are amazed at how bad the service is. No host/hostess ever comes outside or tells the people on line "please wait a moment and we'll be right with you." They ignore you for 10-15 minutes every time, without fail. They've got to hire more people, or just try to be friendlier. If the burgers weren't so good, I would have stopped going a long time ago.

Yes the good burgers are why I go back. I've had worse service, I've also had better. It's still not as bad as Dave's service was.
They need to make the place larger and then hire more staff.
I don't know how much it would cost, but Dave's is right across the street. I was hoping they'd buy it.

That would be a solid, solid move.

Daves has already been bought. It will more than likely be leased to a restauranteur, but it won't be the owner of Jack Browns. Also last year Jack Browns went in with a franchise company, and in addition to the Richmond restaurant there will be restaurants popping up around the country, Austin Texas and Athens Georgia for starters. Many more to come

Another Hburg creation, Campus Cookies (started by a JMU grad) has expanded nicely in the past few years to Charlottesville and Blacksburg. It would be pretty cool to see those sprout up all over the country too.

If what they tell us is correct, Campus Cookies actually was a COB 300 business plan idea that has now become a pretty damn good idea

I've met the Campus Cookies founder before and that is correct....what your COB professors won't tell you though is that they didn't like the idea.

Honestly that wouldn't surprise me. Some of the ideas I've heard end up being shot down because of certain feelings about it
