Rice@UNT moved to Halloween
The first game is conference contest between in-state rivals Rice and North Texas, the first meeting between the teams as conference foes. That game has been moved up two days and will now be played Thursday, October 31, in Denton, Texas.

http://www.conferenceusa.com/sports/m-fo...13aab.html

Both teams play on Oct. 26th. Only 5 days between games.

Better do something big for it UNT! Halloween game against an instate rival...way too big of an opportunity not to make a big splash in the DFW.

That will be a good game and it should be a fun atmosphere. Last time SMU played a Halloween game it was a lot of fun. Might try to make this game up at Apogee

This probably kills any chances I had of making the game, but I bet it will be a fun atmosphere

that's what im afraid of for this game...stinks we won't have as many rice fans visiting...hopefully, north texas admin sets up some good promotions or something.

RE: Rice@UNT moved to Halloween
Ya'll should turn Apogee into a Halloween themed event kinda like how Six Flags does Fright Fest. Give kids trick or treat candy and have face painting and people in costumes. Maybe a fun house and one of those jumping things in the parking lot before the game. Maybe slip a couple tickets to a future game into the trick or treat bags for the first 5k. If you make it an event for families, I think you'll have a chance to pull a lot of people who wouldn't normally go to a UNT game. And once you get them in the door, you gotta wow em and ensure a fun experience.

that is exactly what people on gmg message board are saying...it makes perfect sense...but alas...not everything north texas does makes sense...

Rice has four players heading to NFL camps this year, and most of their team is returning. They were solid last season. We will have our hands full.

A Halloween game is great! No one will think twice about pUNT masquerading as an FBS-level football team on that night.

Who declared this an in-state rivalry? The two teams have only played three times, with the Owls holding a 2-1 lead.

And 3 of the 4 were tight ends, so most of our positions are still pretty solid

Good luck. We're pretty good at home. Crazy stuff tends to happen in Denton. Like beating ULL. Our stadium gets a little loud even if the crowds aren't massive.

Yeah, because I was totally talking about Fouts. Totally

We have 7 wins in 2 years at home. Considering we were 5-7 and 4-8, that's quite impressive.
