Twisting the intent of an article into some kind of slam against the B1G.
All PU and MSU are doing are trying to figure out what to do RE the new 9-game B1G schedule. Purdue hasn't 'nixed' anything.
This place is a joke.
Here is what I've learned from reading this forum:
1. The SEC Network and ACC Network are better than BTN. Mike Slive invented the idea of a conference network. (Uh, I don't know if anyone's noticed but the ACC Network hasn't even been announced and I'd bet good money that ESPN puts the screws to the ACC in one way or another when it comes to a network.)
2. The B1G keeps inviting Notre Dame, like, every year, and Notre Dame keeps rejecting them. Notre Dame would even reject a deal where the B1G would bend over for them like the ACC has for the Irish.
3. Jim Delany will try to raid the SEC for teams like Kentucky and they will laugh at him. (I mean WHAT?)
4. It's been confirmed by everyone from Swofford to Delany that the B1G sent hand-engraved invitations to UNC, Duke and Virginia and all of those schools set the invitations on fire, called Delany on conference call and said "NO, WE LOVE THE ACC AND WOULD RATHER BE HERE WITH OUR ATLANTIC BRETHREN."
5. Pittsburgh and Syracuse would not have gone to the B1G if invited.
6. Mizzou didn't really want a B1G invite and Delany really messed up by not inviting them. (Apparently nobody remembers that Mizzou was all but throwing itself at the feet of the B1G when Delany announced expansion in December of 2009. Hell, the governor of the state was begging for an invite. I guess the SEC is okay with the Big Ten's rejects.)
7. Everyone is moving out of Big Ten country and the conference is messed up six ways to Sunday.
Well. Clearly I'm exaggerating. But seriously, that's what it feels like sometimes around here.
ETA: Sorry to those of you offended by my more colorful language. I curse like a sailor IRL and it came through in my post.
