Sure, it's easy for Iowa or my alma mater Illinois to say "cut ties with Notre Dame" when they don't play them in anything (and I wouldn't be surprised if that sentiment exists with that group). Welcome to the ACC College Sports and Conference Realignment Board. Par for the course for these guys to twist everything they see in regards to the Big Ten.

Twisting the intent of an article into some kind of slam against the B1G.

All PU and MSU are doing are trying to figure out what to do RE the new 9-game B1G schedule. Purdue hasn't 'nixed' anything.

This place is a joke.

Yes it is.

Any game scheduled between a B1G school and ND is a big money game for both schools. I doubt any ill feelings will prevent future scheduling between the two. Those are some great games, and just because ND wishes to remain Indy doesn't mean that these are not awesome regional games with fan friendly travel costs... JMHO.

What about ND rotating Big Ten opponents through ND's neutral-site games? Play Penn State at the Meadowlands, or Northwestern at Soldier Field. Wisconsin keeps trying to get a name team to play them in Green Bay (without Wisconsin returning the game, which is why they're having no luck) -- how about Wisconsin playing Notre Dame at Lambeau Field?

ND and Northwestern are currently in talks about playing a game at Wrigley Field.

ND and BC are in talks about playing a game in Fenway Park.

This comes from a speech/talk given by Brian Kelly and the Red Sox chief operations officer at an ND Club of Boston dinner last week.

All PU and MSU are doing are trying to figure out what to do RE the new 9-game B1G schedule. Purdue hasn't 'nixed' anything.

This place is a joke.

Here is what I've learned from reading this forum:

1. The SEC Network and ACC Network are better than BTN. Mike Slive invented the idea of a conference network. (Uh, I don't know if anyone's noticed but the ACC Network hasn't even been announced and I'd bet good money that ESPN puts the screws to the ACC in one way or another when it comes to a network.)

2. The B1G keeps inviting Notre Dame, like, every year, and Notre Dame keeps rejecting them. Notre Dame would even reject a deal where the B1G would bend over for them like the ACC has for the Irish.

3. Jim Delany will try to raid the SEC for teams like Kentucky and they will laugh at him. (I mean WHAT?)

4. It's been confirmed by everyone from Swofford to Delany that the B1G sent hand-engraved invitations to UNC, Duke and Virginia and all of those schools set the invitations on fire, called Delany on conference call and said "NO, WE LOVE THE ACC AND WOULD RATHER BE HERE WITH OUR ATLANTIC BRETHREN."

5. Pittsburgh and Syracuse would not have gone to the B1G if invited.

6. Mizzou didn't really want a B1G invite and Delany really messed up by not inviting them. (Apparently nobody remembers that Mizzou was all but throwing itself at the feet of the B1G when Delany announced expansion in December of 2009. Hell, the governor of the state was begging for an invite. I guess the SEC is okay with the Big Ten's rejects.)

7. Everyone is moving out of Big Ten country and the conference is messed up six ways to Sunday.

Well. Clearly I'm exaggerating. But seriously, that's what it feels like sometimes around here.

ETA: Sorry to those of you offended by my more colorful language. I curse like a sailor IRL and it came through in my post.

We rejects are just fine. At least Missouri manned up and asked publicly. You really believe Nebraska wasn't back-dooring it for a B1G invite? 04-cheers I am sure you just mispelled "FUCHED".05-stirthepot

As an ACC fan, I don't want Notre Dame as a member of my conference. I am happy to have them as a partial, but I don't have to worry that ND will become the Texas of the ACC.

Not sure why ND would also play a football game there unless they're thinking after Wrigley gets renovated/expanded.

Yeh he does. That was in the works for a while. They didn't decide to move while reading the news on the potty. Good for them though. They fit...

That's not a one way street, though ~ they need a four game scheduling agreement anyway to have home games in the second half of the season, so what they are "giving" to get a home for their non-FB sports is one extra football game.

Has getting home games in Oct/Nov been a challenge for ND before? They sure didn't give the old BE 5 games a year, even though the BE sorely wanted something like that.

So, really, either side could give notice (however that is defined) and call the whole thing off at any time? Not that either side wants to or would do so, but contractually they could?

The GoR will make that not as easy to do, The ACC is our home for lonnnnnngggg time I bet.

And I for one am now happy about that. Took me awhile to warm up to it but I like it now. ACC,ACC,ACC.
