To the mods
I realize you guys aren't getting paid, and spend a lot of time refereeing things and take a whole lot of grief for almost no reward...

So, I'm saying this in as nice and mature a way as I can...

Is it at all possible that, in your want to keep things civil, you have become hypersensitive to any whining that occurs?

I ask because a thread I began that offered a proposal that some would call stupid and others might call innovative.

A poster requested that the mods consider moving the thread.

One of you did.

I don't know what your system is for making those decisions, but here's my whining to the original whining...

First, that there are countless threads on this very board... and one is prominent at the moment... that discuss who should or shouldn't be added to make for 16 schools. THAT, my friends, is just as much about realignment as the thread that I composed.

But even more importantly, the realignment board was instituted under this premise, worded by one of you:

"Please keep all random realignment scenarios not directly related to CUSA on that board. If they are posted here, they will be moved to the Conference Realignment board. Threads related to the future of CUSA will stay here until the devolve into a smackfest."

I ask that you reconsider, and do the right thing by virtue of your own words... the thread containing the proposal IS related to CUSA specifically. Move it back please, so that the time I invested into writing it and posting it is exposed to people who would rationally have some interest... and there are some.... and again, for those who pass it by, no one is holding a gun to their head... no harm, no foul.

If you do not, AT LEAST, be consistent. (1) Move the 16-team thread, because it inherently is speaking of realignment. (2) Re-word your own criterion for determining what belongs here versus being exiled to a board that doesn't necessarily get CUSA fan traffic.

I'd prefer, though, to see you correct the wrong, and tell the whiners that you're not going to listen to their whining when they are perfectly capable of not clicking on the ONE thread on a front page of DOZENS of others they could choose.

RE: To the mods
The mods here do as good or better of keeping this board civil and appropriate as any board anywhere. We live in an imperfect world, so at times everyone won't agree with every decision by a moderator; we all see things differently.

The reality is that you've sort of painted yourself and your credibility in a bit of a corner with some of your unusual statements. Just post normal stuff and not some wild-eyed nonsense and you'll do well here.....at least from my years of experience with the posters/mods on this board.

Hey _sturt_ it's just not here that no one likes your loony ideas. No one likes them on HFs either. Where you actually come up with them I have no idea.

RE: To the mods
You really should use the pm for this and your thread dealt with realignment, so it was moved to the realignment board.

RE: To the mods
OT, with all due respect... and I mean that, since you clearly tried a little harder than the others so far to be reasonable with your retort... the post wasn't eliminated for being unusual... it wasn't even eliminated... it was moved... and the criterion for moving a thread is made clear in the quote I copied and pasted... but it wasn't followed.

As much as you like the mods... and I have no reason not to like them, either... you really should stick up for following the rule that was made, imho.

==========

banker, that you seemingly make it your business to never miss an opportunity to find me and take a shot says all that needs to be said about how you are, if not who you are...

==========

fanatehc, I would have PM'd if I'd known who to PM... it is my experience that when a mod on most boards does something to someone's post, they initiate a PM themselves to explain why they chose to do what they did... I would have appreciated that, but it's not my board, so I can't complain too much about that particular point.

===========

So, when one or more of you would like to speak to the actual merits of my contention, I'm here.

More whining as-if you're unable to avoid my single thread on the front page just doesn't cut it. It should bother you that you come across as whiners. But it doesn't. Okay, I suppose.

RE: To the mods
If I came up with a stupid idea such as having a post-season tournament for the four teams that score the most points in the 3rd quarter in weather over 70 degrees in states that have three or more vowels then I would rightly be called a troll or an idiot.

Dude, it was a bad idea that come out of nowhere, it doesn't deserve its own thread and is some attention whoring of the highest order. You can PM any mod, I'm sure that they have their own forums to discuss these things, no need to make a thread for more whoring.

RE: To the mods
ODU, you're entitled to your opinion of that thread.

But as a graduate student, surely you have the intellect to understand that that's not actually what's being discussed in THIS thread.

THIS thread discusses whether it is right to establish a criterion for the circumstances under which a thread would be moved to the realignment board, and whether it was followed.

So, when one or more of you would like to speak to the actual merits of my contention, I'm here.

So far the mods have been lenient with you, Sturt.

I moved it at my discretion. No need for discussion. This topic is over with. Any further discussion will be dealt with appropriately.
