You guys do need to get the radio broadcasters indoors. MT tent was almost blown away in Florida this year. Thank God MT brought some duct tape to anchor it down to some railings.

FIU's stadium looks quite a bit better now that it is completely bowled in.

Nothing ever worked right from WKU radio team when they were there...YOu could tell from WKU broadcast that FIU's experience as a radio team was the only one unique to anything they had seen before and pretty much said it was a miracle anyone could hear broadcast outside Miami with what they had to work with...

When UNT played at FIU in 2011, our radio team was in a tent in the corner of the stadium. Not only was it a horrible view but it also rained during the entire game.
Rain ... electrical equipment ... only a tent ... fortunately, no one died or was seriously harmed.
Hopefully FIU has added an additional radio booth.

I think FIU has moved on beyond those days.
Remember when the Baylor Bears came to Fouts Field to play the Mean Green (a game we won) and at half time the electricity in their dressing room went out?
For a near sellout game with the temperature at kick-off somewhere around 105 degrees that August night but............I think it was after that game and electrical failure that North Texas officials really started putting some ideas down on paper about a future new football stadium.
Ex UNT HFC Todd Dodge's best thing he did when hired at UNT was tell our officials "we have to have a new football stadium to compete with who we compete with now and down the road." Well, Dodge never got to coach in that new stadium but many of us do give him credit for lighting a necessary fire under some upper echelon UNT officials for them to get off their butts on this matter.

It is the hope of some that CUSA will one day have a bowl game affiliation in San Antonio's Alamo-Dome; you know, maybe even a 2'nd bowl game in S.A. like New Orleans has with its Sugar Bowl and NO's Bowl? I know that is a definite hope of mine since I love an occasional trip down to San Antone' and of course most times on such trips we native Texans never-ever forget to remember the Alamo!

You do understand that FIU's stadium is been built in phases right? We're still a couple of phases away from completion. Once completed the stadium will hold 45K people. The rendering below illustrates the direction we're heading with our stadium. Our athletic director made it clear that we will continue to expand as our program continues to grow.

Is there really a need in Miami for 45k? what was your attendance from two years ago when you went bowling? I know how bad it was this season. WKUYG talks a lot about maximizing profit from attendance. I think he said that the optimal numbers before expanding are 70% season tickets. he will show up sometime and can elaborate, but there is no way that FIU is even close to that number.

No offense, but Florida has shown an incredible inability to support any team enough to put 45K in a stadium every game. Stop making excuses. It may be phases, but it is unacceptable and sad that a high school in DFW has better media resources than your stadium does. It's embarrassing that Fouts Field had better media resources than the FIU "stadium". FIU's stadium looks like a high school stadium and FIU deserves a whole lot better. Although FAU's new stadium was incredibly pathetic, so I guess neither F_U schools can get the stadium thing right.
Anyway, all the complaints about the Wing Zone at Apogee is pretty stupid. It's unique, looks imposing from the freeway and makes the stadium look gigantic. Not to mention the Wing Zone is a big reason why the stadium is so intensely loud, even if you only get 20K in the stadium. It is well documented by many people...even big name team fans, that our stadium gets extremely loud. So loud, when packed, that it rivals some bigger stadiums.
I smell jealousy. Our stadium is concrete (the Wing Zone is erector+concrete due to design) and gets ridiculous compliments from just about everyone, AQ or not who visits.
Anyway, go on.

North texas has shown an incredible inability to win games, how many years has it been since you've beaten us in our high school stadium. Rather have a high school stadium than a high school team.

Whoa there. FAU is one of the best I beam stadium examples i have ever seen. Love the palms in the corners. The MASSIVE suite tower, goes like what 4 stories above the stadium? that does wonders to help make the stadium seem larger on the field. I like the look of it. It has some personality.
FIU's has it's issues, but seriously man, chill out. The wing is cool too...

I don't get all the hate for FIU's stadium (except for the lack of a press booth, that is well deserved). It is unremarkable in appearance, but so are a lot of stadiums. It's not ugly, just plain. It gets the job done.
I also don't understand the person that said FAU's stadium is bad. I personally think it is one of the best looking stadiums in the conference.

I voted for FAU's stadium in the poll we had a while back. Much of this hate seems to be very misplaced.
