I cringe at how low attendance would look. I like the rectangular corridor of Huntington that your stadium / campus (?) is in.

Marshall's stadium only seats a little less than 40,000. You're also looking at it from the air, which voids the architectural lines that the average spectator would see.

Also, i don't know how you can cringe at what 25,000 fans look like in a <40,000 seat stadium, but over look the same attendance in a stadium that can seat 70,000

Thanks. I have yet to visit most of the stadiums in C-USA so I was going solely by the pictures in this thread, where available. I'm sure your stadium is very nice from the ground. I appreciate the input.

Rice seats 47,000 with the tarps... and in addition, I think it looked better when UTSA was there because our fans helped fill it up.

No. See image below. Highlighted in green are decks. In yellow are flat lots.

None of the parking on campus is more than 15 minute walk from the stadium.

There's enough space on campus for 16,000 cars. Plus parking at Kohl's across from the stadium and at the Harris Teeter shopping center at the end of the greenway below the red lots. It won't be a problem till we get past 30,000 seats and then they'll probably let them park on the sides of the roads on campus.

Still think it could be horseshoe'd, but this is a far more flattering view. Not bad. I love the columns.

I really like Charlotte's stadium. Perfect size for a start-up program, and built within expansion in mind. And if the expansion never comes, it is still has a great layout.

No offense to UNT but I just don't get why you did that Krispy Kreme wing shape for the end zone section.

There have been many discussions about that over the years.
Hopefully attendance will get to a point that we have do it.

Here is an aerial shot of most of WKU's campus. There is more to the left and right, but this is all of the main corridor.

Granted at the time you were in the SWC that would have been better than say MWC, WAC, and your current home in CUSA but going from filling a 70K Stadium to barely looking good in a 47K arrange I'd have to ask.... WHAT HAPPENED?

The Oilers came to town

That's not bad at all then. All I could see was what was right next to the stadium. I was going to say, that wouldn't be enough for my old high school. lol.

For whoever was talking about Marshall, I might try to get some stadium shots during practices this summer.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about any other school than your own? That Krispy Crème remark played out two years ago. How about some new material Jerry?

That end zone design came from the brainchild(ren) of the the architectural firm that designed our stadium--not North Texas officials. It is not my favorite, but it can sure be replaced with how the curvature of the stadium already is along with a double deck which if you look closely would offer more seating in that endzone area.

For our stadium debut against the UH Cougars, I actually sat in that endzone and the sight lines were beyond amazing never-minding it's contour or shape. In fact, a fellow alum from Fort Worth I took to the game loved it as you got to see the plays develop. (We Krispy Kreamers also got to witness the very first TD because it happened in "OUR" end zone in the game against UH....you would have thought there were 70,000 fans to hear the crowd's decibal levels.

Speaking of accoustics, they are second to none in Apogee and the (then) UH Coog's Head Football Coach Sumlin had to call 2 or 3 timeouts because it got so noisy and he made a post-game comment about the crowd noise, too, but of course that part of the stadium design also came from HKS Architects, too, the very same firm that designed "Jerry's World" over in Arlington (TX).

The University of Houston is using the same architectural firm and construction outfit the Cowboys and UNT used with their new upcoming football palace being built to replace "the Rob" which I believe will be ready for use in the Fall, 2014.

Here 'tis the HKS architect firm's official video of Apogee:
