Someone answer this for me
Why, if we are semi-active and not "Inactive", are we in the "Inactive Areas" of this website while a very Inactive MWC is in the "Active" portion of the site. I believe this does in fact hinder our ability to grow and make this a more active and attractive board to lurking Big Ten fans and fans of other conferences who have some interest in discussing the Big Ten and its happenings. Is their any site admin or mod that could answer this for me?

Petition GTS.

If you can lure more B1G fans here, he'll upgrade it. But yes, I understand the chicken or egg situation the board is in.

Best bet is to PM the B1G guys that actively post on CR. I know there are at least 4-5 PSU fans, 2-3 OSU fans, 2-3 Iowa fans, 2-3 Michigan State fans, 1-2 Michigan fans on CR. So that's at least 15 more fans on top of the numerous Rutgers fans here and the few of y'all that post on this board.

There's only a handful of Rutgers fans really, but it would be nice to see this forum become more active.

I may be the only continuously active UMD fan. A handful have popped up here and there.

Yeah, there are lots of places to talk Big Ten sports ~ or for that matter, Buckeye sports. Conference realignment and MAC sports is harder to find. Getting Big Ten sports fans who came for the conference realignment talk is a better shot than recruiting Big Ten sports fans from other boards.

True, its mostly about getting the B10 fans that are already on the network to post on this forum and build from that.

SEC board just got upgraded, but it looks to be just as active/inactive as the B1G board.

That is what I'm talking about, I really think being out of sight in the inactive area is hindering the use of the board because Big Ten fans who visit this sight don't see it.

I put in a request to GTS to bump the B1G board to the proving ground.

Is out bound traffic (ie staying in DC, games will be in Suburban VA, or Maryland (with one field in Glen Burnie) horrid? Or will we be going against traffic mostly?

Depends on the time and day.

It'll take minimum one hour to get to Glen Burnie from DC proper without traffic. Where in NOVA?

Wow - that is long drive - it would be the Tues-Sat before Labor Day. Time needed to be a field could range from 8 am to noon.

NoVa Fields in Clifton.
Other fields in Laurel and Upper MArlboro, MD

Those are some crappy parts of Maryland.

Unless you need to be in DC for something else, it makes more sense to stay in Maryland and do one long, long haul to Clifton.

I'd recommend staying in Annapolis. It's roughly 1/2 hr from the three Maryland games, beautiful, and it'll let you avoid most of the DC traffic.

It'll be 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to Clifton from Annapolis but the rest of the drives will be much easier.

We have been thinking about it -- we will only be playing likely at one of the complexes (for our division), but they won't let us know when until a few weeks before tourney. The host hotels are all in Downtown DC, so everyone wants to be with the other teams.

I'd prefer to stay in MD.
