What's going on with the new Rutgers AD?
Scandal, lawsuit, scandal. She's toxic and needs to go ASAP.

Odd that the university went with her over the candidates suggested by the search firm. Seems like she wasn't properly vetted.

Who were the other candidates?

Not sure, but according to the Star-Ledger, there were 47 presented by the search firm, but Hermann was not one of them. The search firm did brag about the hire on their website, though.

Quote:Two sources familiar with the search process for the new athletic director said the headhunter firm, Parker Executive Search, submitted an initial list of 47 candidates to Rutgers. Hermann was not part of that initial group, added later by committee co-chairwoman Kate Sweeney.

Fresno State AD Thomas Boeh (I believe he took himself out of consideration) and Wisconsin deputy AD Sean Frazier.

So they hire the AD through an old girl's network who was filtered out by a search firm that presented 47 candidates.

I'm in the middle of a movie on HBO that's similar to that, "Game Change". Things are going pretty well right now, though it seems there has to be a bump in the road coming, since if they keep going swimmingly there won't be much drama to the story.

Here's an article from a Louisville beat writer. It's fairly positive about her tenure there.

I really don't know what to believe at this point. If anything, I'm feeling like she probably is a great administrator, but has the type of baggage Rutgers doesn't need right now, especially since the University leadership is woefully unprepared to defend their decision in light of these topics. If you believe in her, then come out guns blazing to defined her and the process to hire her. The response so far has been half-assed and reeks of incompetence and cronyism .

THIS is the real scandal right here. THIS is why she should go. This is insider cronyism and quite frankly, feminism gone way astray.

There is no way this company didn't check her background. They did, and for whatever reason this co-chairWOMAN Ms. Sweeney decided to not just overlook it but very likely surpress it in order to push this woman to the head of the pack.

The REAL story that should be delved into is WHY this happened and HOW.

RE: What's going on with the new Rutgers AD?
Rutgers chose her because Louisville has always been a step ahead of us every bit of the way in every bigtime sport except women's basketball during the entire time of Rutgers' decision to finally really invest into athletics. Unfortunately, her dark history might undo this.
