22. Bill Clinton did not have sexual relations with that woman. Any dissenting opinion will be met with harsh criticism and flogging.

I agree, but then again I grew up in a middle class family with two parents who actually understood what parenting involves (discipline, involvement, emphasis on academics, etc). I had food on the table three times a day, didn't have to worry about crime in my neighborhood, and I knew that if I screwed up that I would be punished.
A lot of D1 football athletes weren't so lucky growing up and they may or may not have had a parental figure in their life or someone who would instill a basic sense of discipline/common sense into them. For example, take Louisville football player Lorenzo Mauldin. His father was in jail and his mother was an alcoholic. He spent most of his childhood in foster care (16 different homes to be exact) and was separated from his brother at 15. Mauldin has been a model citizen at UofL as far as I'm aware but it is easy to see how someone in his shoes might not have gotten taught basic things a lot of us take for granted.
Just to illustrate the point, look at what happened to Tulane linebacker Trent Mackey who was convicted in armed robbery involving drug deal last week ( link). Or Tulane's Lawrence Burl who was suspended after arrest on drug and weapons charges last May ( link).

Pastner is the master of helping troubled youth. He helped Geron Johnson who actually has a criminal background, Michiel Dixon who the world treats as a criminal, jelan Kendrick who Pastner handled perfectly, all the Memphis players who play for us. He is an excellent father figure.

Is there not any occasion that Memphis fans cannot use to stroke their own ego??? Next month, we'll no doubt be hearing how Pastner wrote the Declaration of Independence.

If I am the parent of a recruit and I am on a visit with my son, seeing something like this automatically drops that school down the list in my mind. It makes me think that these things have been issues in the past if they need to be spelled out like that. It makes me question the type of players currently on the team and whether I would want my son being around people who need to be reminded with a giant sign not to steal or do drugs.

It actually took longer then expected to see this reply. When did Louisville fans get so sensitive? It is a freaking joke...

It's funny you mention those cases at Tulane. It really illustrates my point. They were both kicked off the team as soon as the charges surfaced. We did not need to have a sign in the locker room telling them not to rob people or use guns and drugs to kick them off the team, it's just understood, as it is in any non-criminal organization.
And a sign in the locker room wouldn't have stopped them from committing these crimes. They're crimes. So clearly they're already against the law.
The problem with a sign like that, and it's pretty clear to everyone in this thread that is not a UL fan, is that it is insulting to the 99% of kids that don't need to be made aware these things aren't acceptable. And it sends a signal that you actually expect your kids will need to be informed these things aren't acceptable. I mean, why not just have a sign that says "Don't be a criminal."
