ECU basketball might want to accomplish more than having a pulse before you start talking smack.
Now I know how USM fans feel.
No, now you know how it feels when you guys start talking about your football passing us by when you haven't even demonstrated a pulse at this level and have a stadium about a third the size of ours.
Does it really matter what was accomplished years ago when other coaches and players were there anyway? You see how quickly one coach can change everything and it feel apart at places like USM in football and ODU in hoops. What really matters most is what kind of money, facilites, support, and conf affiliation you have. That's the foundation.
Teams that have never done much put it together all the time. Butler for example went to 2 NCAA's their first 98 years but regardless I'll take having a pulse and schools like UConn, Cincy, and Memphis to recruit to in basketball beyond pure speculation around your football about being able to compete at this level or what may or may not happen in a decade or 2.
But according to your asanine logic, our one year of bad basketball is important and what happened years ago doesn't matter but you touting your football programs history in football IS important?
No wonder everyone thinks you are a troll.
For the record, we will be better than you in basketball in no time and I think well be better than you in football in 5 years.
As I said Caa fans said we'd suck in the Caa for a long time too. You sound exactly like them.
You went to a Podunk school in a Podunk town and you have a small fanbase. Literally your entire fanbase is the people who show up to the games because there is nothing else to do in Greenville.
Odu has a much larger fanbase and area. We have a much larger recruiting pool and soon we will have an equally nice stadium.
You are a mediocre AAC team. The only reason they chose you was as a last resort to keep the conference together. Teams bolted because you joining the conference was the absolute last straw. Every ounce of that is fact. No one respects you or wanted you, you were just a last ditch effort to save a league ripped apart by realignment.
We were chosen to join cusa because of our potential despite never having played a fbs down. We get to see you on the field this coming season, if you don't blow us out, being the amazing AAC school you are, you'll be a laughing stock.
I have ZERO doubt we pass your school a decade from now, but as I said, I doubt it will even take that long.
You might want to hire a fact checker the next time you post.
1. you have a small fanbase. Literally your entire fanbase is the people who show up to the games because there is nothing else to do in Greenville.
WRONG! Last time I checked small fan bases do not average 45,000 fans at home football games. Its not like there isn't anything else to do in Greenville which some of the time its not, its just that ECU fans take their football very serious and will most likely put going to a game over anything else. Plus we have a lot of fans that travel from out of town to come to games. I live in the Tidewater area and trust me the only thing that is going in Norfolk during ODU gametime is ODU football. Don't give me that crap about people going to the beach because they can go after the game and Norfolk Tides season is over the first week in September. Any concerts you have is usually in the evenings. So really the only thing that a real football fan can do on a Saturday is go to a football game. Just because Norfolk is in a larger area does not mean that you have a larger fan base. I see a lot of VATech and UVA fans in the Tidewater area.
2.Teams bolted because you joining the conference was the absolute last straw.
WRONG AGAIN On Septembet 18th 2011 Pitt and Syracuse applied and was accpted to the ACC.On October 28, 2011 WVU was invited to Big 12. Big East invited Houston, SMU, Memphis and UCF in 2012. On March 7 Temple was invited. On May 9th Louisville was invited to the ACC but could not offically accept untill November 28th due to exit fee issues with the Big East. On November 20th Rutgers announced they were going to the Big Ten.
THE BIG EAT RESPONSED BY INVITING TULANE FOR ALL SPORTS AND EAST CAROLINA FOR FOOTBALL ONLY. The seven remaing non-football schools left on December 10th. So as you can see teams left before we were even invited. We did not get an all sports invite until March 27th.

3.if you don't blow us out, being the amazing AAC school you are, you'll be a laughing stock.
WRONG AGAIN If we don't blow you out it will still be another W in the win column. Only ODU fans will see it as a moral victory and think that they would of had a good chance at beating us. Thinking we will be a laughing stock becuase we didn't blow you out is just plan ridiculous.
A lot of things will need to go right before you will pass us. If you can keep your coach you will have a good chance. If he continues to win you best believe a bigger school will come and offer a lot more than you can afford. Your fan base is use to winning. I hope they stick around when you don't win as much.
