UofL showing class...
I my dislike them as an opponent, but I have to respect them as a program.

Quote:American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco said Monday he was told by Louisville that the Cardinals would wear the new "A" logo for their one season in the conference in 2013-14 before moving to the ACC. He said he wouldn't be surprised if they were also using the logo on athletic competition fields of play. He said he hasn't heard from Rutgers yet on what the Scarlet Knights would do before they move to the Big Ten. But Aresco said both schools have been warm to the league, even with their pending departure. Both schools will be representing the league in all their athletic competitions and any advancement into NCAA play would mean their postseason units would stay with the American and not go with them.

Cardinals to wear "A"

The BIG EAST/American has been very good to Louisville...as I have always said I will always be a fan of the league and will continue to watch & follow it even though this is our last year.

Tom Jurich will do things the right way, he always has. I for one agree that we should show the logos of the American on the jerseys and field/court.

There's really no excuse for not displaying the "A" if you play on a grass field. I could see not wanting to bother to put it on artificial surfaces for just one season.

As far as uniforms go, I am glad to see the Cards will display it.

RE: UofL showing class...
Louisville worked hard to make the AAC/Big East work. However, let's face it, $20 million a year versus $2 or $3 million per year sealed the deal. Yes, we like the conference and wish it well. Our move was a total business decision. I will miss the UConn and Cincinnati games. I was hoping to rekindle the Memphis rivalry, also. But powers that be forced Louisville to make a business decision.

They will use a paint that can easily be removed after the 2013 is over.

I don't really understand why Rutgers wouldn't use the logo.

You're a member, so act like one.

Not doing so seems selfish and petty.

It makes sense to wear the logo and put it on the field while you're a member. All the departing c-usa schools did it. Rutgers hopefully won't be the 1st to do this move.

I did like the Rutgers fans that we came across in St Pete. I guess I expected a bunch of Jersey Shore types.

Cardinals to wear "A"

It's not like they have other options for their teams to play next year. Of course they will be representing the league wile playing in it.

RE: UofL showing class...
I said in a previous thread when the logo was announced that Louisville would use the american LOGO. Tom Jurich has constantly shared his feeling how much the big east has helped Louisville and how overly grateful he's been to the conference helping his program. He's said this privately and publicly. He's never had any disdain towards any member institution and the only time he was vocal about disgust was with Pitts president during the whole acc fiasco and TV contract debacle. Other than that he's had nothing but good things to say about the league and hopes to continue the rivalry with cincy. He really values the rivalry with cincy.
