RE: Tweet from Sr. Director of Digital Media for AAC re ESPN Blog
First, Steve has every right to feel how he does (as we all do). ESPN gave us weeks notice about the facebook change, but destroyed the AAC blog without even a goodbye? Second, the old AAC blog was extremely active, and this did NOT save it. It's not about clicks people, it's about the agenda. ESPN does not want to create any appearance we're equal to the P5. Period. We're cheap filler, and they want us to stay that way. Does anyone really think ESPN is bringing back this blog to be nice? If so, the blog would not have been destroyed in the first place, or the new AAC blog would have a dedicated blogger today. (seriously, how much does a blogger cost??)

Aresco et. al. pulled something out of the contract to force ESPN to create a 'blog' (shell) for the AAC. There is no doubt about it.

That all said, I was there VERY often for the old Big East, and I'll still visit often for the sake of the AAC. We have to play in the arena we're in... can't fight it.

RE: Tweet from Sr. Director of Digital Media for AAC re ESPN Blog
I think, hope we all understand Steve's consternation with the evil empire, but we should support the blog. If for no other reason than it is symbolic of the war we must wage. Whatever the reason it came back, it was atributable to the fan reaction. That is the spirit we'll need to stay viable and improve our position. The P5 and ESPN have stacked the deck and have their agenda. We must kick that in every chance we have. The media will come around, they always do (see the BCS). We've got to win as many OOC games as possible. Upset the established order long enough and change will occur.

So far 100% of the content is about Rutgers or Louisville. Did they just bring it back to talk about the teams that are leaving for a P5 conference?

I just went to the AAC blog and there isn't much to talk about...stuff about RU's player who broke his neck and Teddy B from UofL...ie the two schools leaving the AAC after this season.

I believe it was posted here that they would assign a regular writer for the AAC blog?? Can anyone confirm that?

(2) Fine to be mad - stupid to not click everyday to ensure keeping the blog. I urge you all to bring this to the attention of fans on your respective school forums and urge them to click. It MATTERS.

I am clicking for you guys. I think it is BS that the AAC, MWC, MAC and Sunbelt all do not have blogs with the P5, Notre Game and Stanford.

FWIW, Steve is not a troll, he is a dedicated UCF fan and was one of the most prolific posters on the old Big East blog.

As I said above, I do agree we should be clicking. I'm under no illusion though, that it matters to ESPN.

RE: Tweet from Sr. Director of Digital Media for AAC re ESPN Blog
I made it my Internet Explorer homepage.

It's crazy that this is the world we live in, but it's so important that the AAC win some games against SEC, ACC, BigXII, Pac12, and B1G this year. It would also be great (no offense to them) if someone besides Louisville or Rutgers wins the league this year.

RE: Tweet from Sr. Director of Digital Media for AAC re ESPN Blog
I'm going to the blog, but I've seen more AAC news on other sites, such as CBS sportsline.com, than I have at espn.com.

Unless I missed it, has there even been a single story (other than Teddy Bridgewater and Eric Legrande) from the AAC media days posted at espn.com?

Edit while creating this post - there is a front page article about Tommy Tuberville and the AAC blog has two new articles (although one is 'insider' only).

Progress!

Thanks, Bull. I'm not sure how any of my comments can be considered "trolling". I'm just not happy with the way ESPN has treated our conference. After reading others comments on here I do agree that we need the ESPN presence so I'll do my part by clicking on the blog a few times a day.

Note that I only said you might be a troll for all I knew. I was a bit suspicious of a person with a low post count discouraging others to click on the blog. My apologies.

Unfortunately, at MT.org we have been conditioned to assume the worse.
