Actually, no they didn't. UofL beat them in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl for the 1990 season, the Bowl games was 1-1-1991. The 1991 season Maimi and Washington split the nation title, 1992 season Alabama won.

FYI, ECU should have played Maimi in the Orange bowl in the 1991 season and the Peach Bowl. Maimi was 12-0 #1(ap) #2(cp), ECU was 10-1 9th, Nebraska was 9-1-1 11th.

Thanks for the correction...they still had some core members in that game like Copeland & Teague.
