I hope Rutgers proves me right, I hope Iowa proves me wrong and quite frankly I do think FIU could beat Maryland. I just really want to see them do well in their farewell season as much as I want to see Rutgers do well.

If Maryland loses to FIU, that would be simply awful. Just awful. FIU is actually worse than they were last year, when they were just simply bad. Maryland should roll them.

The Big Ten has been going to NJ to get players for decades but the Big Ten with the state school of NJ is not the real Big Ten?

Nah, it's not the same as when Nebraska and Penn State were added. Those last two were big time programs that added to the conference's football brand. The new additions were for TV sets/contracts.

In regards to recruiting, the B1G Ten gets players from nearly every corner of the country.

Rutgers choked their game away. I really thought the Knights had the better squad.

I will say I liked the guts your coach had going for two in OT. It's a good test for your team to see what they have. I think Rutgers will roll over several of their American conference mates this season - most AAC teams are not as good as Fresno State.

Don't take it personally, it will take time for you guys to work your way into the Big Ten society. There are going to be traditionalists whom aren't going to give you a big hug and a kiss to welcome you in. That is the Big Ten for you. Just letting you know what Rutgers and Maryland are getting into in terms of fans of those schools.

Penn State fans had to face the same. That's the culture, it IS your culture now too. The programs of these two schools will just have to prove themselves and earn their positions in the eyes of some fans. To some fans though they aren't going to change their minds. A lot of Big Ten folks think the Big Ten should only be ten teams. They don't care about the nationalization of college football.

Unfortunately that has happened, the Rose Bowl has a very limited lifespan and we very rarely played a PAC team in it anymore anyways. It is what it is.
