The 4th one may or may not be true as no one knows all the parameters but Cuse fans are ecstatic to be in the ACC--a much better fit for our fanbase and alumni.

With all your Cuse bashing...you realize UConn is still waiting to get asked to dance? 03-drunk
Syracuse view of the world is a totally inflated one with regard to media pull in NYS.
This has nothing to do UCONN

Also the President of Syracuse will the chancellor of Rutger's Newark campus in January.

Dude instead of worrying about Cuse...maybe you ought to worry about your pathetic 2 radio station network that can't even reach SW Connecticut let alone NYC. Compare to Syracuse with 30+ stations and three of them huge AM long distance nightime 50000 watt stations. Talk about not measuring up to B1G standards.

http://the-boneyard.com/threads/down-to-...ost-669787

You realize the last two Cuse Chancellors were Chancellors at B1G schools right before they came to Syracuse? This includes the current Chancellor moving to a less prestigious position in Newark, NJ. She is near retirement and wants to move back to her native NYC area.

Seriously this thread hasn't gone well for you...

it's 2013 Mark...UConn's games are on television in NYC and SW Connecticut. Heck even the women's games are.

Syracuse's games are also broadcast in New York City on SNY, and Upstate on Time Warner, and soon to be MSG and YES. But even so, SU still has a vast radio network of more than 30 radio stations where their games can be heard live in Vermont, parts of PA and all over NYS, including NYC. These stations arent paying to be able to broadcast these games unless there is a market of listeners.

But I think the following exchange from Uconn fans on the Uconn message board linked by TexanMark, tells us all that we need to know about Uconn in its own state and NYC:

Exit4

I have been screaming about this for years since I relocated down this way from Eastern CT! At least last yr IMG finally put them on Satellite radio. Until the UCONN Athletic Dept realizes they need to market themselves to any place south and west of Hartford County things will not change!

FDNY99 said:
its a big oversight by the university. they need a billboard on I-95 in somewhere between Gwich and Norwalk that says 'Welcome to UConn Country' and we need that terrestrial radio coverage down this way. its annoying listening to Syracuse, Fordham or Rutgers radio spill over on the local dial from NYC/northern NJ stations. while i'm on it, the ESPN New York page should include UConn in their college links section http://espn.go.com/new-york/

Lastly, I also find it very interesting that ESPN has a link for Syracuse University and Rutgers on New Yorks College Sports page but no Connecticut. Isnt it strange that a "private school, in a remote outpost, that is hundreds of miles away from NYC" (as one Uconn fan says) is listed on NYC's college sports page while a school like Uconn is less than 2 hours away and no mention?

Let's be honest here. Both Syracuse and UConn are where they belong.

Whatever helps you explain UConn outperforming Syracuse in football since moving up and tripling your basketball championship. I love seeing how happy the conference realignment banishment has made Cuse fans. Its pretty much the defining characteristic of your fanbase at this point. You can allude to how you hate UConn fans, or how we were nothing before 1990, but the truth is your relieved your school won't be outshined by UConn anymore and will take the leg up over UConn any way you can.

The only people who make a habit out of comparing SU to UConn are UCONN fans, and the only people who think that UCONN is outshining SU at anything major/semi-major not named baseball (we don't field a team) and women's basketball (UCONN>>>>ANYONE at WBB) is crazy. UCONN has won more NC's recently (although historically we are technically 3-3), but that's more a matter of being tangibly luckier over the last decade, not a matter of being tangibly better. A mediocre UCONN team had a great player catch fire during a crucial time, whereas two #1 caliber SU teams lost key players days before the tourney. SU bball and UCONN bball are on the same level. As for football, UCONN's record against SU is more a matter of the fact that SU went through the worst decade in program history during that time. It has almost nothing to do with UCONN. Everyone was beating us then. Heck, even Akron walked away with a win. However, times have changed and those days are behind us. We are now well on our way to being the SU of old, which is night and day from what we were.

I think that I speak for many SU fans when I say that we are elated to be in the ACC, but it isn't because we "escaped" UCONN. It's because we are in a power conference filled with like-minded institutions who have collectively negotiated great media contracts and individually have great names. Our reason for being excited has nothing to do with UCONN.

I actually think that many SU fans feel bad for UCONN basketball. As hot as our bball rivalry is, I think that many SU fans think that UCONN deserves to be somewhere better. The Huskies deserve to be in the BIG EAST with GU, VU, Marquette, and so on. However, neither SU nor SU fans have a dog in that fight, nor do we have any say, so it is what it is.

Football? We outshined your arse 40-10 last year. We had a retard for a FB coach and allowed you to catch up and even have better teams 2-7 years ago...congrats! That is in the past.

Basketball be proud of your trophies (you won't be seeing any again for awhile)...your fan base still sucks and is full of WBB watching Beta Males. 03-nutkick

Did you seriously just use the phrase 'Beta Males' to describe men who support women's athletics? If women's bball fans are beta males then Syracuse football players are zeta males and I'm glad you fell off the map 10 years ago.

count me as an SU fan who feels bad for uconn. conf. realignment, a logo change, ncaa violations, + every traditional rival selling them out makes me feel bad for this fanbase. sure there are uconn trolls (which i have no pity for) but i do feel for the majority of uconn fans. a big chunk of my family is from hartford and they are uconn fans which made this rivalry special for me, i will miss it, but im looking forward to duke/louisvile

No did I say that?

I said UConn is full of Women's Basketball watching Beta males.

As far as falling off the map...you can watch us on ABC next Saturday...maybe I'll fire up my computer and find you on ESPN3....oops sorry I'll be in a sports bar watching real teams on Friday night outside Giants Stadium.

I just enjoy beating up (Internet) some of their clown fans. If the ACC expands again I'd like them as a rival but they have brought much of this on themselves. Selling out? Are you crazy? UConn would've done the same thing in a NY minute if offered. Not my fault their brand isn't good enough.

Watch as many real teams as you can on Friday night, because you will only be watching two has-beens in Giants Stadium Saturday. When was the last time Syracuse won 10 games?

I think that you misunderstood his comment. IMO, it was heavy-handed, but his comment was "[UCONN's] fan base ... is full of WBB watching Beta Males." I think that his comment was meant to imply two things: 1. that he believes that UCONN fans put too much weight into the strength of their women's basketball program (like we probably do to lax and Rice does to baseball), and 2. that, in general, UCONN fans are beta males. I personally think that it was heavy handed and probably sounded a LOT better in his head, but I do not think that it was intended to call all WBB fans beta males in general.

I wish we were better. However, Coach Q seems to have the team on the right track. We seem to get better every year and we are starting to consistently make the tourney. The next step is to start making some runs.

Then why hasn't Syracuse done it?

Every NCAA school would kill for a women's program that actually makes money. A lot of money.

Whatever, I find the women's game boring. I'll watch women play tennis all day long, swimming, gymnastics, some track and field...Enjoy your women's hoops...I've watched about 5 mins of Cuse hoops the past season.

And yes I was inferring that UConn fans are beta males.

I'm sorry Cuse plays a way more difficult schedule than Houston does...last year's team would've beaten Houston quite easily. You Lost to TEXAS STATE!

It is nice you are trying to defend your new BFF (UConn) but they'll leave you as fast as they can if the ACC/B1G calls.

I don't watch women's BB unless it's the NC game. But if they're going to play the game on national TV and it's possible to make enough money from women's BB to cover all of the other women's teams, then I'm all for it.

I don't care if that makes me an alpha, beta, or gamma.

And yes I was inferring that UConn fans are beta males.

I don't watch women's BB unless it's the NC game. But if they're going to play the game on national TV and its possible to make enough money from women's BB to cover all of the other women's teams, then I'm all for it.

I don't care if that makes me an alpha, beta, or gamma.

Since you only watch them in the F4...you would be an Alpha Male in my book. 03-lmfao
