RE: ECU vs FAU.... The Thread
FAU,

who will we have to look out for tonight? What players/positions will Ecu have a hard time with?

Obviously if you paid attention to our ODU game our pass D needs work. How is your QB and receiving corps?

Also, I heard word that y'all could not stop the run against Miami? They obviously have a very good RB in Duke Johnson who would run all over any D in the nation (the kid is just that nasty). How do you think your run D will hold up against Cooper? He rushed for over 1,000 yds last year but did not take many carries in the ODU game. Frankly I didn't even see a running game against ODU, but our team passed at will so there was not much need for it. I would also like to see our freshman grayson get a few carries.

How is your pass coverage? Shane is a very good QB with several options other than what were mentioned above with Hardy and Grayson. We have Isaiah Jones who looks like he will be good as well as a few other I am hoping turn it up a notch. I see potential in #80 bryce williams.

looking forward to a good match tonight.

Despite facing Miami last week, our defense is our strong suite, especially our DBs and LBs.. the have the most skill and most depth. The one that stands out the most is CB Keith Reaser.

As for offense, we have some QBs that can scramble, but none have been stand out in passing, which is why we are using 3. The biggest playmaker on Offense is WR William Dukes.

GO OWLS

RE: ECU vs FAU.... The Thread
Pass coverage will be very good. We kept up with Miami's WR/TE fine for most of the night and when they did catch the ball they got popped. As far as run D I believe we are better then we showed against Miami. Lots of times we got to Johnson at the line but just couldnt bring him down due to his beastliness. Names to watchout for on D.

Keith Reaser #3
Cre'von Leblanc #7

I really cant give you much intel on Offense because quite frankly we havent seen much yet. Word is we will again rotate the two QB's #12 Quez Johnson and #6 Greg Hanerson. Both played thier first FBS games last week, so I dont think they really played well due to nerves/excitement. Our Oline played much better then I thought the would and I think they will give time to our QB's. Key WR to watch out for are:

r#19 Wille Dukes
#88 Jenson Stoshack

Hope that helps!

How is the running game? ODU didn't really run on us, but I'm guessing it's because they didn't have to.

Johnathan Wallace is the starting RB, but you could also see Martese Jackson. Hankerson and Quez can both run well from the QB spot, with Hankerson being the quick, fast, hit the hole type, and Quez being the run you over type.

Also keep an eye out for our 3rd QB DJ Juste. He had a nice couple of runs out there when he was lined up with Hankerson. Yes you will probably see 2 QB's on the field at the same time a bit.

Whatever crowd does show up tonight will be rowdy. Not sure how big it will be but it's gonna be fun.

Agreed. I think FAU takes this one. ODU is good for FCS, but would be at the bottom of the conference this year. If they were as good as ECU fans think they are, they would've won the FCS national championship last year.

Drunk on a heady dose of thursday night prime time and a small feathered foe in our sights. Seriously, guess he has never been to an SEC game. I'm sure he'll be jealous of our game day atmosphere after this evening.

He's actually a Mizzou grad, so I'm sure hes been to that type of atmosphere before. I took it as a compliment and not a slam. ECU fans appear to go all out on game day.

I am going to state again to you guys what I stated to ODU posters last week: Ruff almost always wins in games that he is favored to win. He almost always covers spread too. Last weeks spread was 15 points in favor or ECU over ODU. ECU won by 14 points. Now the downside to that is that Ruff almost never beats a team that is favored over his ball club. And the losses almost always covers the spread.

So the moral here is this: If Ruff is favored to win then it is almost safe to say that Ruff is going to win. Maybe tonight is different, but all things being even; ECU will probably win when favored.

Certainly no sig bet. I'm not confident that FAU will win at all. I think this game could easily go either way. I don't think that ECU is a bad team, but you're certainly not world beaters. You couldn't even beat a Sun Belt team in your bowl game last year (we beat them btw). I think this a close one that goes FAU's way. ECU's defense is suspect. That's my justification.

Have you seen FAU's offense? They have 2 or 3 quarterbacks; one to run, one to throw and one to spike it on 4th down.
