We don't rely on other teams to beat themselves. If you didn't know, that was the 13th game in a row where UH forced at least 2 turnovers. 13 times in a row is not luck. Our defense forced those turnovers that cost you the game.

Curious why we won't be winning in football next season. We have one of the youngest teams in the nation. We have 2 true freshman QBs playing, 2 sophomore RBs leading the team, and our leading receiver is a sophomore. 10 of our 22 starters are freshmen and sophomores. That is young.

Then throw in we'll have a new home stadium next season instead of roaming around 3 stadiums like this year, and I see something special happening next year, not even knowing how this season is going to end.

edit... I should clarify, I don't necessarily mean beating Memphis next season. I mean having a winning football team.

Anyway, I completely disagree that you pumped the brakes the last 10 minutes, in the context you implied. You got conservative to kill the clock b/c the game was close, just like any leading team in a tight game does, so don't take credit for that, like you could have run up the score more. If you kept passing, you also would have risked a TO, and the game could have tightened up. Works both ways.

We were clearly trying to run the clock out to win the game. Your defense is good. There was no brake pumping. We were trying to get out of there with the W.

Yep. Thank you. Good win.

So what exactly is the difference between "pumping the brake" and "playing conservative"

I'm obviously missing something here cause to me those both mean that we slowed down the offense.

I'm not debating semantics, I'm debating context. You are implying that Houston could have scored more points, if they had not slowed down the offense at the end, like you took it easy on us, so the score could have been much worse.

I'm saying you had no choice but to slow down, and kill the clock, b/c it is the prudent thing that most coaches protecting a lead ALWAYS do. Otherwise, it is within the realm of possibility that you could have lost.

Honestly, I have NEVER seen anybody take credit for slowing down the offense to protect a late lead, as an indication they could have won by much more. Too many times, teams with late leads that close have messed up and lost.

Actually, that's EXACTLY what you were doing. Saying that the way I said it means something else than the way you said it.... THATS SEMANTICS...

We had a choice to not slow it down too. And it being prudent to do that is only cause we weren't scared your offense would score again.

When did I say that we would win by "much more".

For someone who said this "You keep making wrong assumptions about me. Not sure why." you sure do read a lot of phantom things in my posts. You're really being quite an argumentative jerk here, "not sure why."

I said the same thing that electric said(and he understood) but you claimed I said we did it to "be nice." Then you claim I said it as an indication that we would have "won by much more." Didn't say that either... you want to make more stuff up about me? And my posts, and their quotes are there for you and all to see...

Lol the hot air was Houston fans claiming a 30 point win and 500+ offensive yards.

Again, what box score are y'all looking at because I don't see moral victory next to the win and loss columns?

Again, we're not this supposed football power house. The only box score I see is the one Memphis dominated you in. I give 2 ***** for moral victories but I do laugh at opposing fans who say they are gonna blow us out by 30 points and gain 500+ yards. Once again another team who has to rely on Memphis making mistakes to win. Glad you are happy with the win even if you TRULY didn't earn it. Glad yet another team relied on us to beat ourselves LOL.

Sorry, what I meant to say was you guys have a good team LOL!!

And I said you instead of y'all, cause I understand that you can't speak for everyone, unlike you all seem to think Cougar Hippy speaks for all of us when most of us call him out...maybe y'all should pay attention to who says what.

Great reply dezacoog. I hate it too when one of ours get loose and the whole fan base is painted unfairly. However, I'm curious about the low turnout. I live here in H-Town and just don't get it. I guess the Coogs are used to a certain level of success and we are just not there yet. I know Memphis would fill BBVA with just what success/momentum we have now. I was there decked out in Tiger Gear and the Houston fans were great. We had a lot of fun going back and forth.

Look, we just don't agree about anything. Even your own fan agreed with me about what you were implying.

But just go on calling me a jerk. I won't return the favor. I'll be happy to put you on ignore.

I've been on here a long time, and rarely have cross words with anybody. IMO, I haven't said anything to antagonize you, and even apologized that you took it as such, the first time we bumped heads. But you were graceless in responding even to that, and seem to want to be confrontational about everything.

I think our biggest problem is a wide generation gap, and a difference of opinion about how to interact on social media. Carry on. I refuse to respond to you any more. It's futile.

Fair enough, first time you address the problem/what I said and not make stuff up about me. Honestly, it's simple, read what I said, don't read into it. I didn't imply any of those things. You act like I'm the one creating an argument here when you're the one making things up about me. I've said it more than once, y'all played hard. There were also had stretches where you played very well and kept us at bay. I have no idea if we would have scored more. But Levine definitely "pumped the brakes", "played conservatively", or "decided to be prudent/cautious" or whatever you wanna call it. And not to "be nice," but obviously to try and win. I personally don't like when teams do that. I think running out the clock is a dangerous thing to do. I was even yelling at the game that with that much time left 10 points is not enough of a cushion. Y'all still could have easily scored then kicked a short field and gotten the ball back and beaten us or at least even tied the game. I wasn't putting past y'alls offense especially cause Rice almost did EXACTLY that two games ago.
