Rick Villarreal has been incredible for North Texas. He has been getting incredible facilities built at an unprecedented rate, and still has more in the planning phase; namely a baseball stadium and a new track facility.

Rick has turned gamedays from being just a game to being huge social events including tailgate festivities and club level amenities. Other schools may have cultivated those activities for decades but they were new to North Texas.

The fact that he insinuated we are some up and comer with no history, especially with your school is what pissed me off. Yes we have been in the same conference before and it was the appropriate response.

look, the la tech football program stands on it's own. there is no point in trying to make an affiliation that died 70 years ago seem suddenly relevant. it makes you look sort of needy -- and you're not

Every FCS school that rises up, every Sun Belt school that rises up, is a threat to schools like Southern Miss and ECU. I've never pulled for a UNT, or an LA Tech, for that reason, and I never will. If you play Ole Miss, I'll pull for Ole Miss.

I get your point kind of, but that's a losers mentality. If those schools ended up passing USM or ECU then that's USM and ECU's fault not theirs.

That was not my intention. I am merely pointing out our shared history and how haters like AW always like to conveniently forget. UNT and Tech have strong football traditions to be proud of.

USM's players and coaches never quit in this game and seemed to play hard throughout. Good job by them. Things haven't been easy for ya'll recently but you have some talent. The WR drops are a major hurdle to overcome, but the WR's seems to have some ability, they just need to make sure they catch the thing first.
