Again--similar to Baseball--we lost two of our top rated teams to realignment ( notice any trends, here?)

Liberty beats St. Johns 3-1 on a two-out, 2 run walkoff homer by Rachel Roupe the bottom of the 7th. Iowa beats WKU 8-0 in five innings. Jax State loses to Virginia 7-3, though they lead South Carolina in 2nd game 2-1 in 4th.

WKU defeated Missouri St. 1-0 earlier in the day.

My bad, missed that. Liberty usually goes out west and loses a ton vs. top 25 teams early in the year. Some are close, but would like to win a few.

MTSU loses 4-3 to UCDavis. UTEP beats Western Michigan 5-1. UTEP in second game leading ACU 4-1. New Mexico State beats Monmouth 4-1. Ohio State leads FIU 6-1 in the 7th. Witchita State 7, Sam Houston 3

In the second game of the event in California, MT lost 8-2 to St. Mary's.

Liberty starts 1-3.

This is pretty typical of LU early season against tough competition. Usually like to steal a couple of these games though.

WKU (FL tournament) with two wins.

7-1 over Army

7-2 over NC State

now 3-1.

Liberty comes back after losing the first game of the softball series vs. WKU to win 9-1 and then 7-5 today, after trailing 4-0 I think in the 4th. WKU gave it all they had but now Liberty holds a 2 game lead in conference play with the tiebreak over WKU and La. Tech. Had WKU held on today, they two teams would have been tied with WKU holding the tiebreak.
