We aren't The Big 12. We did not invite a school way out of our geographic footprint simply because they had some quality results in a couple of BCS Bowls. Rutgers was picked because of what Rutgers is, not what Rutgers football or Rutgers basketball is.
Programs can be built. Quite frankly if I had to pick the biggest issue for your team this year, I would say it is your quarterback not your head coach.
The biggest issue is the head coach's baffling unwillingness to bench the QB.
I think he doesn't want to upset his Don Bosco connection. It might cost him his job. I am pretty sure the DC is gone next year.
I can't believe it's because of his worry about losing DB recruits. He's losing recruits from everywhere else!
The guy went all in on Nova and lost. However, pulling him is not going to solve the problems on defense (I agree Cohen is gone after this year), the lack of O-line (at least Dodd will scramble more), and no kicking game. Just a lot of fundamental problems with that team that opponents have exposed as the year went on.

I think next year is key for Brady Hoke. It will depend on the direction it looks like things are going. He's done decent on recruiting and those results will have to reflect next year. They don't have to win the Big Ten, but Michigan has got to be in the running or at least look like one of the best teams in the conference by the end of the year. If next year ends like this year has over the last few games, I think there's a decent chance he's gone (unless of course he beats OSU this week, which gives him a little more in the tank to survive next year).

I don't think the OLine is the problem. They aren't great, but when your QB play is so bad that they can stick 9 in the box and run blitz every down, it's going to be hard to have a consistent run game. James and Goodwin have combined for 1128 yards and 11 TDs on 204 carries. Compare that to last year when Jamison had 1075 and 4 on 255 carries.

Don't let Flood or Cohen on the bus home.
