Bingo. No one has said we are an NCAA team or anything. We are probably a top 100 type team, but you can't not be excited about these guys with only one senior and what we lost, especially with the fight they have. Zangari stepping up might have been the most encouraging sign cause we need an inside presence. I just think it's big for us to get a shot at Duke on National TV. That's a lot bigger than UNCA on the radio, so we did something tonight earning that.

Don't get ahead of yourself. They may win their conference tournament, maybe, but they lost to a bad Texas Southern team.

ECU had 18 turnovers tonight, but Norfolk State still lost the game. So I am following you on that one, but it was still nice to win.

I agree. It is big. This is the 2nd time in two weeks that ECU has had a big come back for a victory. These games build character, but I am concerned about the play of the ECU point guards.

Randaddy thanks for the support for the Pirates. Whatever crappy method you had to listen to/follow the game with i'm sure it was not fun........this should've been on TV or at least ESPN 3. I'm lucky I live in Greenville and literally had the best option (radio on the Pirate IMG) aside from being there.

Cheers to ESPNU tomorrow. Wish I could've had the visual of watching this game tonight.

So, two BCS schools and another conference school that might have the best player in CUSA and a good young coach. I think most of this board voted them the most under rated last week.

Check us out on vs Duke on national TV tomorrow. I don't know if we will have anything left after tonight but it was a great accomplishment regardless fighting back and getting there. It's not like we beat Stillman or some D2 crap. That was a legit NIT/NCAA team that will give a lot of programs problems with their size, experience, and backcourt. For such a young team that was a huge step.

I streamed the game via Jonesing's brain waves... I'm gonna have to upgrade his 56k modem.

That was a great win

Good showing for the future with such a young team and the guys we just signed last week…Looks like Lebo is building something solid at ECU. I suspect there will be a lot of ups and downs this season with all the young guys but it is impressive the fight they have shown so far this season.

Hopefully we can put on a respectable showing tomorrow night but I am afraid the moment may be a little too big for our team right no. Either way it will be pretty neat to see ECU at Cameron against Duke on National TV.

I don't think Texas Southern is a bad team. They gave Texas Tech all they could handle tonight.

That was crazy. I'm really glad I got to see that I person tonight. Really gutty win. You can see this team really believes they are never out of any game. They still have a long way to go and some of our issues won't be resolved this year, but the difference in mentality and attitude is obvious.

Norfolk State has had decent teams in recent years. ODU's "secret scrimmage" was with NSU, and despite the "press blackout", it was widely known that ODU defeated NSU in that matchup, with ODU VERY limited on the front line.

Congratulations on a great 17-point comeback! That is hard to do and will spark confidence in ECU every time this team faces adversity. However, I would be careful to assign to gaudy a label to NSU, based upon their early-season results and what a supposedly rebuilding and undersized ODU team was able to accomplish vs them.

I said we were probably a 100 type non-NCAA team this year. Do you people even read my post or just hear whatever you want to hear. Seriously.

This was a team that has 8 seniors that 2 years ago upset Mizz in the NCAA tourny and went to the NIT last year and undefeated in their conference and won 21 games. They returned the conference player of the year and just about everyone else. Do you not want me to be happy about a 17 point comeback on a huge stage with 9 minutes left, like this with only 1 senior and 5 of 8 of our rotation being underclassmen?

The real question is DO you think that will end up being a horrible team. If you are not willing to say so then go kick rocks. All I was giving was context.

I guess this is directed towards me. I didn't mean that it is "nothing to be happy about." On the contrary, the win and in the way it was done is something more than to be "happy about". I just don't think Norfolk is a legitimate NCAA team like jonesing said.

Well somebody has to win the MEAC, so they may end up being an NCAA team afterall (they went 16-0 in the MEAC last year), so it is possible. I would not think that they are a NCAA team, because ECU turned the ball over 18 times and NSU still didn't win the game. A win is a win is a win and ECU is 4-0 (2-0 v. D1 opponents both wins of which came on the road/neutral site), so the Pirates are trending in the right direction.

We'll you can think whatever you want about them. I just provided the context and how they were 16-0 in their conference, return the POY and just about every one else too on a senior laden team many of which contributed as sophmores that upset #3 seed Mizz 2 years ago in the NCAA.

It's about like the guy pumping up FGCU today. Yeah it's an auto bid conf, yeah some of these players were on a fluke upset, but who the hell else would you say will probably represent that conference and go to the NCAA's? I mean feel free to offer up your pick from that conference that's not the 16-0 team that returns the POY, 8 seniors and just about everyone.

I mean I haven't said they were great, but I sure don't think they are horrible. I think they are probably a top 100+ type team too, but to beat a senior laden team that's won together on that stage in a comback was huge.

Not directed at anyone in particular. It just seems to be a pattern on this board.

Norfolk 0-2 vs d1, and has an 8 point win against division 2 Virginia Union who is 0-3 against division 2 schools... The win was a good win, but quit trying to force feed everyone your bs.

RE: Official 2013 NIT Season Tip-Off East Regional [Durham, NC] Thread
It's early this year...and they return essentially the same team from an NIT team last year and many of the players that help them win an NCAA game two year ago. According to you on other threads that makes them legit even if they didn't do much the rest of the year. I've not said once they were anything more than an top 100ish type team, but my context was not inaccurate and this is a good win given their experience, history on bigger stages, and our youth.
