C-USA West Scenarios:

Rice needs: Win
UTSA needs: Win + Tulane win
Tulane needs: Win + UTSA loss

The UTSA game kicks off 30 mins. after the Tulane game. Tulane will not know if they are drawing dead until after the game. UTSA will know if they are drawing dead by early in the 4th quarter of their game (barring OT in the Tulane-Rice game).

In a matter of 40 minutes, the West division title will be decided. Wonderful.

Yes.

A Tulane win + UTSA loss + NT win eliminates them by virtue of their head-to-head loss against Tulane earlier this season.

A Rice win + UTSA win OR loss + NT win eliminates them by virtue of a 7-1 conference record - the best NT can do is finish 6-2 in the conference play.

A Tulane win + UTSA win + NT win forces a 4-way tie, and eliminates them due to common game tiebreakers. Tulane would be 2-1 against the other three, UTSA would be 2-1 against the other three, Rice would 1-2 against the other three, and NT would be 1-2 against the other three. Rice and NT would be eliminated in that tiebreaker. UTSA would then eliminate Tulane by virtue of a 10-7 home win against Tulane earlier this month.

One last point: UTSA needs Tulane to beat Rice... ...so that they can eliminate Tulane themselves. UTSA knows that Rice cannot be the team that kills off Tulane... ...UTSA must be that team or they are drawing dead. :)

That's already been stated and yes, we are all Tulane fans next week. Go Green Wave!

However, Rice is not purple. Rice is "a blue still deeper than the Oxford blue..."

What's best for the conference is that the two teams who have the best record on the field play for the title. Period. It shouldn't matter if they are first year or last year in the conference. To exclude those two groups sounds like some left-winged socialized redistribution of wins model. I think we all wore a CUSA patch on our jersey this year. Besides, if the conference is going to share revenue with other schools that my school helped produce for this conference then you're dang skippy I have a right to participate in the conference title chase.

I love this "traitor" tag as if any other school wouldn't jump ship if given the opportunity as well.

I don't think anyone should have to apologize for helping build the conference and then moving on to greener pastures.

And some of it comes from teams that not only recently jumped ship, but others who jumped ship 8 years ago. The one with the most haters dumped a conference to come to CUSA. Gotta love hypocrisy and jealousy.

The best thing for CUSA is if this game is in Huntington or Greenville because if Rice is hosting it will make CUSA look bad on TV as they barely have any fans at the games. I am not saying that in a mean way but you all just do not turn out for your games.

I really enjoy the Rice - UTSA series. Yes we are down 0-2, and last year you handed our ass to us. Anyone that saw the game this year knows it was a close one (27-21 with our two missed FGs). Looking forward to more.

I guess the best for perception is Rice v MU. The game would look very good on TV in Greenville though. I really want to go to one more....this year flew by waaaaay too fast. C'mon Pirates! 04-cheers
