Indiana St Observations
Big victory. IMO when we get good offensive preformances from Woodard and Wright, we have a great chance to win against most teams. They are the keys.
Here are my observations of how some players played last night - at least the ones that stuck out in my mind.
Woodard - he vanished for the first part of the season, but looks quicker and more aggressive now - I don't know if it was because of injury or not, but he looked like last years JW to me.
Wright/Evans - One of the things that we may be scaring teams with is how well our bigs hit the three. That forces their bigs outside away from rebounds. I think we'll see that from here on. but they need to be aggressive on those 50-50 boards.
Smith - His worst game imo, but he was still active and mostly aggressive, but his shots weren't falling. ISU paid a lot of attention to him which let some of the others have good shots.
Harrison - He actually had his poorest game IMO and his driving was minimized, so his usual game didn't help us much. He was the weapon we didn't need in the end.
Ray - He really outplayed SH last night with his quickness and hustle. When we need a lift, he's it. Nice game and one of the reasons we won. When they cut off SH driving, he'll still allow us to score from that spot.
Swannegan - I sure hope he starts playing better and more aggressive. He's a little weak physically, so he needs to be more aggressive to compensate, but that may not be his nature.
Swilling/Curtis - I almost don't want to comment here other than to say if Swiiling isn't hitting the 3, he becomes a liability on the floor overall. curtis is still lost and obviously is having problems on both ends. If he doesn't shake it off soon, his PT will probably diminish.
Well, it was a good win on TV and one we needed in the worst way. We play Friday late, but the game will be televised early Saturday morning.

RE: Indiana St Observations
I think something that a number of fans are not really seeing is that, this is still a very young team. Most of the players are either freshmen or sophomores with one senior. At this point I don't count Curtis on the experienced side since he has yet to find his mental balance for Div I. What experience this team has is still not enough yet. I can see this young Tulsa squad taking until the middle of the season to really figure out who they are and how to work as a team. This team really needs someone to step forward and become the leader for the team. That hasn't happened yet. Hmm let edit that last sentence. That leader could be Woodward if he can continue to be play aggressively. Listen to the coaches, they want you to be aggressive. Then make your free throws.
